This is it: the most lavish Rolls-Royce ever (and that’s saying something)

October 23, 2025

Rolls-Royce Phantom

When you think of Rolls-Royce, you quickly think of excess – leather, wood and other materials that smell expensive. But now the British are taking luxury to another level. The new Phantom Centenary Private Collection is no longer a car, but a driving work of art filled with gold, crystal and stories from a century of Rolls-Royce Phantom history. Looking for the superlative of chic? Then read on quickly.

Jubilee

The exterior of the Centenary literally shines. The body combines Arctic White with Black Super Champagne Crystal, a paint that incorporates real glass crystals for deep metallic brilliance. On the nose adorns the Spirit of Ecstasy in solid 18-karat gold with a special “Phantom Centenary” badge. Even the RR logo is done in 24-carat gold and white enamel for the occasion. And for those who love symbolism, the rims are each engraved with 25 lines – one for each one produced, together exactly one hundred lines for one hundred years of the Phantom.

Inside

Open the heavy vault doors and you step not just into a car, but into a driving history lesson. Rolls-Royce itself calls it “a gallery on wheels,” and that is no exaggeration. The front seats are covered in laser-etched leather, the back seat with a three-layer work of art: a printed background with historical scenes, hand-drawn Phantom silhouettes on top, and finally embroidery with 160,000 stitches referencing seven iconic owners.

The door panels are works of art in themselves: laser engravings, 3-D ink layers and gold leaf form maps of historic Phantom journeys. The routes are outlined in 24-karat gold leaf, with gold dots marking the exact residences of founder Henry Royce.

Heaven

The famous Starlight Headliner has been transformed into an astronomical tribute to the luxury brand’s history. With 440,000 hand signs, the points of light form images of the mulberry tree at Goodwood under which Henry Royce is said to have regularly sat.

A V12 as a final salute

Under the impressive hood is still the 6.75-liter V12 with 563 hp and 900 Nm, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rolls-Royce calls this the last big celebration of its classic V12, before the brand heads toward all-electric. Of course, under the hood you’ll also find a lot of gold leaf.

25 copies

More than 40,000 hours were worked on the car. Everything is bespoke, from the embroidered seat surfaces to the routes inlaid in gold. Rolls-Royce calls it “the most complex Private Collection ever.” Its price is not known, but you know at Rolls-Royce: if you’re curious about what it costs, you probably can’t afford it.
