Substantial down payment for Renault 5 Turbo 3E

April 22, 2025

Renault 5 Turbo 3E: provisional starting price

Renault has started taking reservations for the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, an all-electric reinterpretation of the iconic 1980s Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2. The supercar in hatchback form has a target price of 155,000 euros, including VAT. This price excludes options, accessories and personalization and applies to the first 500 customers who sign a reservation. Renault requires a down payment of 50,000 euros.

Here’s how it works

From April 22, 2025, interested parties can make a reservation request via a special page on renault.co.uk. The Renault dealer thereby selected will then contact them for an appointment in the showroom. By signing a reservation form and paying a deposit of 50,000 euros, the reservation is confirmed. This gives the customer priority in purchasing the car. At an additional cost, the desired production number can also be selected. In keeping with the principle of pre-financing, dealers also contribute to the financing of the project when they place their own reservations. This joint effort helps to finance the development of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E.

Next phase in 2026

In 2026, the next phase will start: personalization. Customers will then be approached by the Renault dealer to configure the car entirely to their personal taste. This includes a choice of historic colors of the Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2, such as Rouge Grenade or the black-yellow-white color scheme with which Renault won the 1982 Tour de Corse. New color schemes are also available, including stylish “gentleman driver” options.

Customers will have access to a wide range of personalization options, from the body color to interior details such as seats, dashboard, door panels and center console. In collaboration with Renault designers, they can create different combinations tailored to their own taste and style. This creates a truly unique car.

First half of 2027 the final step

In the first half of 2027, the configuration will be finalized and the order can be placed with the dealer. The amount already paid will then be deducted from the total price. The first deliveries will take place in 2027 (subject to homologation).

On sale in these countries

After the reservation phase, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E can be admired at the recently opened Rnlt. brand stores in Paris, Brussels, Rotterdam, Berlin, Milan, Madrid, London and Riyadh, among others. The model can then be seen live at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 10 to 13, 2025. The Renault 5 Turbo 3E will be sold in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Australia.

Renault 5 Turbo 3E in a nutshell

The Renault 5 Turbo 3E is built on an all-new aluminum platform, designed with performance in mind. Its dimensions are equally extraordinary: 4.08 meters long, 2.03 meters wide and 1.38 meters high. Thus, it combines the width of a supercar with the compact size of a city car. In doing so, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E opens a new class: that of “mini-supercars.

The model is powered by two innovative electric motors in the rear wheels (in-wheel). Together, these motors deliver 397 kW (540 hp) and impressive torque of 4,800 Nm, which is also available faster than with a conventional electric motor. Thanks to the frequent use of carbon fiber, the weight of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E remains under 1,450 kg, contributing to its sensational acceleration capability. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than 3.5 seconds.

The Turbo 3E’s 70 kWh battery uses an 800V architecture and supports fast charging up to 350 kW. This makes it possible to charge the battery from 15% to 80% in just 15 minutes. The expected WLTP range is more than 400 kilometers.
