Review – Leapmotor B10 (2025), this is what (most) Dutch people want
Is the Leapmotor B10 shuffling the cards again?
The electric car market has been in flux for years, but every now and then a model appears that seems to reshuffle the cards. The Leapmotor B10 is one such car. A newcomer, but one that makes it immediately clear that electric driving can become more accessible without sacrificing space, range or equipment. This all-electric SUV is not aimed at a niche, but at the masses: families, commuters and anyone simply looking for a spacious electric car that does not go straight to premium prices. China provides the hardware, Europe is the target territory – and the B10 is the model with which Leapmotor is trying to gain a definitive foothold.

The approach is clear. A length of 4.52 meters, a wheelbase of 2.74 meters, rear-wheel drive and an engine with 160 kW (218 hp): the specifications fit perfectly in the heart of the European C-segment, where familiar names like the Hyundai Kona Electric and Volkswagen ID.3 also operate. The B10 does not try to copy those competitors directly, but chooses a different route: more space, more equipment and a price that is hard to ignore. In other words, the car targets anyone who wants to drive electric without feeling that concessions are necessary.

European look without fuss
The design of the Leapmotor B10 was clearly developed with the European market in mind. No extreme lines, no artificial sportiness, but a subdued and neat appearance. You may find it boring, but ugly? That will be difficult. After all, it is a very sober design. The relatively low nose, flowing sides and slightly sloping roofline create a streamlined profile more reminiscent of a compact crossover than a traditional SUV.
Narrow LED headlights
The narrow LED headlights and matching taillights give the B10 a recognizable high-tech signature. The recessed door handles are also not just an aesthetic choice, but help with aerodynamics. This attention to detail makes the car just a step more mature in appearance than you would suspect based on its price. With its 1.87-meter width and solid stance, it stands convincingly on the road, without garish accents or unnecessary gloss. Anyone looking at the B10 without prior knowledge would not immediately guess that it comes from a relatively unknown brand.

Space and tranquility at the forefront of interior design
Upon entering the car, it is immediately apparent that Leapmotor has not skimped on space. Thanks to the long wheelbase, there is plenty of room to sit inside, both in the front and in the rear. Tall adults can easily find a good seating position, and three passengers in the back can also travel reasonably comfortably. The seats have a pleasant shape, offer sufficient support on their own and are suitable for longer trips. The focus seems to be on comfort and accessibility, exactly what you expect from a family-oriented electric SUV.
Good build quality
The material quality of the Leapmotor B10 exceeds expectations in this price range. Soft plastics and neat stitching on the main contact surfaces create a pleasing impression. The interior design is minimalist, with large horizontal lines that create tranquility. The dashboard is cleanly constructed and the infotainment screen dominates the center console without being overly present. The digital cockpit for the driver is clear, uncluttered and offers all relevant information without fuss.

Ample luggage space
From a practical point of view, things are also good: the tailgate gives access to a trunk space of 430 liters, comparable to many compact SUVs. The opening is wide, the lift threshold low and the space usable for everyday use. For a family vacation you will have to stack a bit more efficiently, but for weekly shopping, sports bags and strollers, the capacity is more than sufficient.
Modern technology that feels instantly familiar
Leapmotor has clearly looked closely at what European drivers expect from an electric car. The infotainment system is responsive and supports modern features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless software updates. The interface looks logical and is quick to operate, something that is by no means the case with all newcomers. The instrument cluster behind the wheel combines digital clarity with a simple layout, so you never have to search for crucial information.
In terms of safety and assistance systems, the B10 surprises. The model comes standard with adaptive cruise control, lane assist, traffic sign recognition and emergency braking assistance. A 360-degree camera is also included, which is a nice addition especially in urban environments. All these systems work without noticeable jolts or indistinct warnings – something some electric newcomers still struggle with at times. In the B10, the technology already feels quite mature and familiar. Granted: the lane assistant is a little too enthusiastic. Leapmotor promises improvement. An update will follow in December 2025 or January 2026. With that update, the B10 will get one pedal driving, Android auto, Apple CarPlay and one “button” to turn off all the beeps.

Quiet, efficient and pleasant in daily traffic
An electric car either convinces or loses in terms of handling. The Leapmotor B10 clearly aims for comfort. It’s not boring, but it’s not exciting either. And there is fairly little steering feel. With 160 kW (218 hp), the rear-wheel-drive powertrain delivers enough power for smooth driving on inner roads and highways, but at the same time feels controlled.
Comfortable undercarriage
The Leapmotor B10’s suspension is tuned for comfort. Bumps in the road surface are well filtered out and even coarser cross-sections are barely audible. In corners, the car tilts noticeably slightly, but that is part of the character of a comfortable SUV. The B10 never feels uncertain or floaty in those situations. Steering behavior is light and predictable, making the car easy to maneuver in heavy city traffic or on narrow roads. When driving slightly more dynamically, you notice that feedback is limited, but that will hardly bother the target audience.
Interior silence is remarkable for this price range. Wind and tire noise stay well outside, even at higher speeds. And yes, even on Linglong tires which, by the way, could also be improved hear. Above all, the B10 feels like a car with which you can take longer trips without stress. The consumption stays nicely within the margins: about 17 kWh per 100 kilometers. Depending on driving style and circumstances, the car therefore offers a real range of between 360 and 430 kilometers.
Two battery options are available:
- 56.2 kWh Pro Pack with a range of up to 361 km (WLTP)
- 67.1 kWh Pro Max Pack with a range of up to 434 km (WLTP)
Both versions support 11 kW AC charging and DC fast-charging capacity of up to 168 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes.

Lots of standard equipment, little worry about options
Where the Leapmotor B10 might impress most is in terms of equipment. The base version is surprisingly complete. Think LED lighting, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry, parking sensors and a fully digital dashboard. Automatic air conditioning and a large infotainment screen also come standard. It feels as if Leapmotor has deliberately chosen a transparent positioning: few option lists, but lots of value for money.
In more expensive versions, things like a panoramic roof, electrically adjustable seats with memory function and a more powerful audio system are added. With competitors, you often pay thousands of euros more for a similar equipment level. That makes the B10 attractive not only for private buyers, but also for lease drivers who want a lot of equipment without a hefty monthly fee.

Conclusion review Leapmotor B10: a surprisingly mature newcomer
The Leapmotor B10 shows how far Chinese electric cars have come by now. This is not an experimental model with obscure workmanship or half-baked software, but a surprisingly complete family SUV that effortlessly keeps up with established European brands in terms of ease of use and comfort. Of course, there are caveats. It lacks the finesse of a premium brand, and Leapmotor has yet to prove in Europe that it can deliver long-term reliability and service. But based on first impressions, the B10 is simply a very attractive electric car.
A lot of people like this
The combination of space, quietness, modern technology, mature handling and an extremely competitive price makes it a logical option for anyone who wants to drive electric without spending a hefty sum on it right away. The B10 doesn’t feel like a budget car, but a fully-fledged, modern SUV that offers exactly what many families are looking for: convenience, comfort and range at a predictable price. It is a car that can really move the market. It’s actually bizarre what you get for your pennies.
With the B10, Leapmotor proves that affordable electric driving is no longer a pipe dream, but can already be a reality today. And perhaps more importantly: that the latest generation of Chinese models is not only cheap, but surprisingly good. By the way, private lease is available from 399 euros per month based on 72 months and 5,000 kilometers per year through Stellantis Financial Services.
