Polestar 5: electric Grand Tourer with brutal performance unveiled
From concept to reality
Five years ago, Polestar showed the Precept concept car, a study of what the future might look like for the brand. That future is now a reality. The production model is called Polestar 5 and is very similar to the study model: clean-lined bodywork, a low nose with recognizable light signature and a streamlined rear end. At five meters long and only 1.42 meters high, the 5 looks long and low, just as a GT should be.

Interior: four plus one
The interior is spacious thanks to a huge panoramic roof. In the front you will find sporty Recaro seats, in the rear you will be just as comfortable with its own climate control and massage seats. Officially, the car is a four-seater, but if you fold up the armrest, you can seat five people. Nice and sustainable: many materials are biobased or recycled, such as carpet made from old fishing nets.

Android
The 14.5-inch infotainment screen runs on Android Automotive OS, complete with Google Maps and other familiar features. There are also plenty of gadgets: from a head-up display to an optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 21 speakers. For safety, the 5 has a battery of cameras and sensors, including the latest Pilot Assist.

Powerhouse on wheels
There will be two versions: the Dual Motor and the Performance. The first delivers 550 kW (748 hp) and sprints to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The Performance goes one step further with 650 kW (884 hp) and 1,015 Nm of torque, good for 0-100 in 3.2 seconds. Top speed: 250 km/h, electronically limited. The 112 kWh battery pack provides a range of up to 670 kilometers (WLTP).

Fast charging without stress
The Polestar 5 can fast charge at 350 kW, taking you from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes. Handy detail: a light on the C-pillar shows from the outside how full the battery is. Prices: 121,900 euros for the Dual Motor and 145,300 euros for the Performance.
