Morgan Supersport 400: powerhouse from Malvern
400 horsepower for Morgan Supersport 400
Crossing the magic 400-hp mark, the Supersport 400 instantly establishes itself as the undisputed flagship on the horizon of the British sports car landscape. It marks a tipping point where Morgan’s legendary analog driving pleasure is coupled with modern, almost brutal performance that should turn the established order of high-performance machines around.
BMW B58
At the heart of this power train is the latest BMW B58 ‘O1’ six-in-line turbocharged engine, which in this configuration delivers 295 kW (402 hp). Paired with a sophisticated eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, this powertrain offers responsiveness that puts the driver directly at the heart of the action. But as Managing Director Matthew Hole emphasizes, the Supersport 400 is more than a collection of impressive numbers. The engineering intent was to deliver the extra power in a way that feels natural and intuitive, supported by the advanced CXV aluminum platform. This platform acts as the backbone of the car and allows Morgan to push the limits of dynamics without sacrificing the lightweight philosophy that defines the brand.

Dynamic Handling Pack
To get this increased power effectively onto the asphalt, the Supersport 400 comes standard with the specially calibrated Dynamic Handling Pack. Whereas on other models this is an option, here it is the foundation of the riding experience. With adjustable Nitron dampers that have 24 different settings, the driver can fine-tune the car’s character from a smooth touring car for public roads to a razor-sharp machine for more intense cornering. A newly developed Active Performance exhaust system enhances this experience by providing a raw, purposeful soundtrack that restores the sensory connection between man and machine.
New ventilation grilles
Visually, the Supersport 400 speaks a language of understated power. The design evolution is functional; for example, the new air vents in the front fenders are not only a nod to sporting aspirations, but also provide essential cooling for the powerful powertrain. The transition from satin gray to gloss black accents on the lower body gives the car a more assertive stance, while the forged 19-inch Sportlite rims reduce unsprung weight for even more direct steering response. It is an aesthetic where every detail serves a purpose and every line accentuates the car’s speed, even when standing still.

Alcantara
Inside the cockpit, the theme of craftsmanship continues with a modern twist. Morgan introduces an extensive palette of Alcantara finishes, creating a tactile and technical atmosphere that perfectly suits the sporty nature of the model. A special detail is the optional, dark gray anodized aluminum shift lever, which appears for the first time on the CX generation and sets a new standard for ergonomic precision. With the introduction of four new satin paint colors and the option of personal touches such as coral red details and refined inlays, the Supersport 400 stays true to the vision that each Morgan should be an individual expression of its owner.
Technical data Morgan Supersport 400
The foundation of the Supersport 400 is formed by the CXV-generation aluminum platform, a chassis that combines modern rigidity with low dead weight. With a driving weight of just 1,170 kg, the car weighs considerably less than most modern sports cars. This translates into an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 344 hp per ton. The heart of the machine, the BMW 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo (the famous B58 ‘O1’ six-cylinder inline engine), delivers its maximum output of 295 kW (402 hp) at 6,500 rpm. Its impressive torque of 500 Nm is available almost immediately from 1,250 rpm, ensuring explosive and smooth acceleration in every gear range.
Transmission is provided by an eight-speed automatic transmission with precisely chosen gear ratios (ranging from 5.25 in first gear to an efficient 0.64 in eighth). This combination results in performance previously unthinkable for a production Morgan: the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) is clocked at a lightning-fast 3.6 seconds. Acceleration only stops at a top speed of 290 km/h. Despite these impressive figures, with a combined CO2 value of 180 g/km, emissions remain relatively contained for a car in this segment.
To keep all that power safely on the road, the Supersport 400 is on Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. The configuration is specifically tuned for driving dynamics, with tire size 235/40R19 at the front and wider 255/40R19 ones at the rear for optimal traction. With an overall length of 4,110 mm and a width of 1,805 mm, the car maintains its compact and agile character. The low ride height of just 1,290 mm and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm ensure a low center of gravity, which is essential for the sharp, direct steering experience for which this new generation Morgan is known.
Production start in May 2026
While production at the historic factory on Pickersleigh Road will begin in May, the brand is already looking further ahead. The next 18 months will be marked by an expanded product program of limited collections and further investment in research and development.
