Hyundai Concept THREE goes into production as an IONIQ model!
Hyundai Concept THREE: what’s the plan?
The Hyundai Concept THREE represents the next step in Hyundai’s electrification journey and complements its existing mid-size and large EV models, think the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 9. With a growing demand for compact EVs in Europe – driven by urbanization, sustainability regulations and the increasing need for space-efficient solutions – the Concept THREE demonstrates how Hyundai Motor is responding to this demand using its electrification capabilities.
Art of Steel design language
In addition to this positioning, the design of the Concept THREE – an evolution of Hyundai Motor’s Art of Steel design language– emphasizes its commitment to providing an experience that is both practical and emotionally meaningful. Hyundai Motor expects the introduction of the Concept THREE to set the tone for the next chapter in design development and strengthen the brand’s competitive position in electrification.
Quote Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe, said, “Returning to IAA Mobility after four years is an important step, and such an occasion deserves an important model. Concept THREE represents the next step in Hyundai Motors electrification journey. With its compact dimensions and Art of Steel design language, it embodies our vision of mobility that is practical, accessible and emotionally meaningful.”

Dimensions Hyundai Concept THREE
Curious about the dimensions? The car is 4,287 mm long, 1,940 mm wide, 1,428 mm high and the wheelbase comes out to 2,722 mm. Other technical data? Hyundai does not mention any other technical data of this Concept THREE at this time. What is already clear is that, in any case, the production version will not be built on the so-called E-GMP platform on which all other IONIQ models also stand. This study model is 80 percent ready for production, Hyundai reports to AutoRAI.nl.

Design Features
- Art of Steel: transforms the strength and flexibility of steel into a design language with sculptural forms. The material, based on Hyundai Motors advanced steel technologies, emphasizes flowing volumes and precise lines.
- Aero Hatch: the shaped body consists of three main lines, with intersecting surfaces that add tension. The Aero Hatch profile delivers aerodynamic efficiency and a roofline with vertical tailgate, appropriate for urban deployment.
- Parametric Pixel: these lights – a familiar detail from Hyundai – are seen on the front and rear of this car.
- Comfortable interior: the cab offers comfort and a driver-oriented design for intuitive operation.
- Customizable experience: modular “Bring Your Own Lifestyle (BYOL)” widgets enable personalized journey design.
- Mr. Pix: a symbolic character that evokes curiosity and emotional connection through interactive elements. You will encounter him in the complete car.
- Sustainability: use of materials such as recycled wool, plastics and lightweight aluminum foam in the interior to reduce environmental impact.
- The colors: the exterior color listens to the name Tungsten Gray and the interior theme is named Moonbeam Yellow.

Europe: strategic market for electrification
Hyundai Motor sees Europe as a core region for the EV era, thanks to diverse cultures, environmental regulations and urban mobility needs. Demand for compact, sustainable vehicles places Europe at the center of global electrification goals. Nearly 80% of Hyundai Motor vehicles sold in Europe are produced locally. Key elements of the electrification roadmap for Europe are:
- Expanded EV portfolio: an electrified version of every model in Europe by 2027; 21 global EV models by 2030.
- Hydrogen innovations: development of fuel cell technology.
- Sustainable production: transition to renewable energy and use of recycled materials in vehicle designs.
