BYD Atto 3 Evo takes big steps
BYD Atto 3
Since its introduction in Europe in 2023, the BYD Atto 3 has become a popular choice among families looking for a comfortable, generously equipped electric crossover. With the Atto 3 Evo, BYD builds on that foundation with additional practical solutions, increased performance and an expanded list of driver assistance systems and comfort features.
According to Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, the Atto 3 Evo shows how quickly the brand is evolving. “In less than three years, we have made great strides. The Atto 3 Evo bundles our latest EV technologies into a package that has already proven attractive to European customers. The result is a powerful, efficient and richly equipped SUV within this segment.”

New e-Platform 3.0 and choice of rear- or all-wheel drive
The Atto 3 Evo uses the latest generation of BYD’s self-developed e-Platform 3.0. This makes the model a clear technical leap from the earlier Atto 3. For the first time, there is a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The rear suspension has also been redesigned and now consists of an advanced five-arm multilink system, which should contribute to improved handling.
Two versions
The model range consists of two versions with one combined battery of 74.8 kWh. Thanks to an 800V architecture, the Atto 3 Evo supports DC fast charging of up to 220 kW, enabling charging from 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes.
The rear-wheel-drive Design version features a single electric motor on the rear axle with 230 kW (313 hp) and 380 Nm. This allows the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and brings the WLTP-combined driving range to 510 kilometers.
The Excellence version adds an additional electric motor on the front axle, resulting in all-wheel drive and a system output of 330 kW (449 hp) and 560 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes just 3.9 seconds, while the WLTP range reaches 470 kilometers.
Both versions offer a braked towing weight of 1,500 kg and come standard with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), which can power external devices up to 3.3 kW.

Blade Battery with Cell-to-Body Construction
The Atto 3 Evo uses BYD’s Blade Battery with lithium iron phosphate chemistry (LFP). The battery is integrated via Cell-to-Body technology, where the battery cells are directly part of the chassis. This increases the rigidity of the body and allows for more efficient use of space.
More practical space within the same dimensions
Although the exterior dimensions remain unchanged, the Atto 3 Evo benefits from more efficient packaging. The SUV measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width and 1,615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. Subtle design updates can be found in modified bumpers, new 18-inch alloy wheels, slimmer side skirts and a sportier roof spoiler.
Luggage space grows to 490 liters and is expandable to 1,360 liters with the rear seats folded down. New is a 101-liter frunk under the hood, intended for additional luggage or charging cables.
Inside, the relocated gear selector to the steering column provides a more spacious feel. The dashboard has been updated with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and high-quality materials. Depending on the trim level, features such as a head-up display and heated rear seats are available. Gone is the “gym interior. Everything now looks more restful and less fanciful.

Large touchscreen and comprehensive assistance systems
The Atto 3 Evo is equipped with the latest BYD infotainment system, operated via a 15.6-inch central touchscreen. This system supports integrated Google services, including Google Maps, Google Play and Google Assistant. The voice controls use a cloud-based AI language model, enabling natural voice commands.
On the safety front, the Atto 3 Evo comes standard with seven airbags and a wide range of driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, cross-traffic alert, lane assist, traffic sign recognition and intelligent speed limiting.

Rich standard equipment
Standard equipment is extensive in both versions. The Design version’s features include a 360-degree camera, four USB-C ports, wireless charging with active cooling, heat pump, electrically adjustable and heated front seats and ambient lighting.
The Excellence trim adds four-wheel drive, a head-up display, heated rear seats and a panoramic roof with power sunshade, among other features.
Delivery from spring
The BYD Atto 3 Evo is available for order immediately. First deliveries are expected in the spring. The car comes with a six-year factory warranty and an eight-year or 250,000-kilometer battery warranty, with a guaranteed State of Health of at least 70 percent.
