All about the Kia EV4: two battery options
Two battery options for Kia EV4
The Kia EV4 enters the market with two battery options: a standard battery of 58.3 kWh and a long-range variant of 81.4 kWh. This results in a range of up to 630 km for the long-range version according to WLTP standards. The standard version has an estimated range of 430 km, while the hatchback variant with a larger battery has a range of 590 km.
Efficient design and aerodynamics
To achieve these impressive driving range figures, Kia has equipped the EV4 with an optimized aerodynamic design. Thanks to a fully covered underside and an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd, drag is minimized. This contributes not only to the driving range, but also to the car’s driving dynamics.

Performance and charging capabilities
The Kia EV4 features a 150 kW electric motor, which enables 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.4 seconds for the long-range version and 7.7 seconds for the standard version. Both variants have a top speed of 170 km/h.
Fast charging is possible thanks to the 400V electrical architecture. The battery can be charged from 10-80% in just 31 minutes. An 11 kW on-board charger allows both single-phase and three-phase charging. In addition, the EV4 features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality, which can power external devices or even homes.

Comfortable and dynamic handling
The EV4’s suspension has been optimized for both comfort and driving dynamics. Equipped with a MacPherson spring assembly at the front and a multi-link suspension with coil-overs at the rear, the car offers a balanced driving experience.
Innovative damper technology, such as SFD3 frequency response valves and Hydro G suspension bushings, reduces noise and vibration. Optimized wheel geometry and reinforced body structure improve steering response and reduce shock absorption by 50%.
High-tech connectivity and infotainment
The EV4 is equipped with Digital Key 2.0, which allows the car to be opened and started via a smartphone or Apple Watch. The driver can share the digital key with up to 15 other devices.
The infotainment system consists of a 30-inch widescreen display, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 5.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch central screen. Over-the-air (OTA) updates keep the system up-to-date. Streaming services such as YouTube and Netflix are standard, while the Vehicle Smart TV solution offers a cinema-like experience with extensive entertainment options.
An i-Pedal 3.0 system controls the degree of regenerative braking and remembers the last settings when the car is restarted. This ensures an efficient and comfortable driving experience.

Advanced safety systems
The Kia EV4 features the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 2, Lane Following Assist 2 and Remote Parking Assist. A 12-inch head-up display projects essential driving information directly into the driver’s field of vision.
The body structure of the EV4 is designed to provide maximum protection. The roof can withstand a load of more than five times the vehicle weight. A multi-load pad protects the battery in a collision, while a reinforced side panel structure provides additional protection in a side impact.
Kia is aiming for a five-star Euro NCAP score, and the EV4 is also expected to achieve high safety ratings in the US and at the IIHS.
Modern design and interior
The EV4’s design follows Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy, combining contrasts from nature and technology. The sedan and hatchback versions have a low nose, long rear end, and wide stance. Vertical headlights and the EV Tiger Face grille give the model a recognizable look.
The interior is minimalist and functional, with a free-floating control panel and an asymmetrical steering wheel. Innovative storage solutions, such as a rotating armrest and sliding center console, enhance convenience. Trunk space is 490 liters for the sedan and 435 liters for the hatchback.
The GT-Line trim offers additional design elements, such as sporty bumpers and 19-inch rims with a triangular pattern.
Production and market introduction
Production of the Kia EV4 sedan will start in March 2025 at the Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO plant in South Korea. The hatchback variant will be produced exclusively in Slovakia for the European market. Sales begin in South Korea in March, with a European launch in the second half of 2025. Other markets, such as the United States, will follow after that.
The Kia EV4 combines ample range, smart technology and advanced safety systems in a modern electric platform. With both sedan and hatchback variants, the model offers an attractive option for a wide audience.
