Hyundai IONIQ 6 N is 650-hp drifting machine

July 10, 2025

Performance Hyundai IONIQ 6 N

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N accelerates – thanks to N Launch Control and 770 Nm of torque – from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 257 km/h. Those are figures you can brag with at a birthday party. About the range, Hyundai does not yet mention any figures. In any case, the battery is 84.0 kWh and charging that battery from 10 to 80% can take about 18 minutes at 350 kW.

New chassis, smart cooling battery

Hyundai N has completely revised the suspension for the IONIQ 6 N, with a lowered roll center and electronically controlled stroke sensing (ECS) dampers for improved stability, grip as well as comfort. The N Battery system provides rapid battery pre-conditioning in a variety of driving situations, such as sprint, drag or endurance use. Thanks to optimized thermal management, the battery system is always ready to deliver optimum performance.

Appearance

Aerodynamics play a key role in the IONIQ 6 N. Elements from motorsport, such as the gooseneck rear spoiler and the flared wheel arches, not only emphasize the aggressive look of a track car but also play a role in generating additional downforce and stable handling at high speeds. The new Performance Blue Pearl color enhances the performance-oriented look of the IONIQ 6 N and shows more depth than the Performance Blue color used by Hyundai N until now.

Smart software

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N is equipped with extensive software that optimizes driver-car interaction. N Active Sound+ produces a dynamic driving sound tailored to the various driving modes: from the motorsport-inspired “Ignition,” through the more traditional “Evolution” to the futuristic “Lightspeed.

N e-Shift simulates conventional gears with sporty, closely spaced gear ratios. The system increases the IONIQ 6 N’s responsiveness to driver input, thus enhancing the feeling of oneness with the car. Combined with the N Drift Optimizer (which allows parameters such as drift angle and wheel slip to be adjusted), N Launch Control, N Grin Boost (after activation, up to 10 sec of extra power for maximum acceleration; recharge time 10 sec.) and N Torque Distribution, N Pedal and N Brake Regen, among others, N e-Shift provides seamless integration of power and vehicle control.

There is also N Ambient Shift Light: a light signal in the interior that visually indicates optimal shift times. The N Track Manager allows the driver to create his or her personal layouts of tracks, analyze data and track virtual “opponents.

Applying Hyundai N’s experience in motorsports, N Performance Parts’ optional components allow customers to personalize their IONIQ 6 N entirely to their liking.
