Kia PV5: for passenger transport as well as commercial use

Starting in 2025, Kia will take a bold step with the introduction of the Kia PV5, an all-electric commercial vehicle designed for both passenger and commercial use. The PV5 will be built on the new E-GMP.S platform, developed specifically for so-called PBVs (Purpose-Built Vehicles), with which Kia aspires to offer passenger, charging and conversion variants. In doing so, the model targets a broad market: from ridesharing to family or business use.

Various battery options

Technically, the PV5 offers different battery options and performance levels. The standard version is equipped with a 51.5 kWh battery (gross) and an approximately 89 KW (122 hp) engine, allowing for a WLTP range of approximately 288 km.

For those who want to drive further, there will be a 71.2 kWh version that promises up to around 400 km of range (depending on usage). Acceleration is not in sports car territory: around 10.7 seconds for 0 to 100 km/h in the 71.2 kWh variant and top speed is quoted around 135 km/h. On the charging infrastructure side, the PV5 can use DC fast charging, with speeds up to 150 kW, allowing charging from 10 to 80% in a reasonable time.

Interior Kia PV5 Cargo

Modular

In terms of ease of use and design, the PV5 aims to distinguish itself through modularity and interior space. The passenger variant offers variable seating configurations (five, six or seven seats) and a flexible interior that is adaptable to the moment – from passenger transport to hefty cargo. The Kia PV5 also features software-driven systems that are always up-to-date. AAOS (Android Automotive OS), OTA (Over-the-Air) updates and the optional Digital Key help.

Various storage modules

Kia also introduces the AdGear concept: modular interior components such as storage modules, rails and accessories can be added or moved as needed. Aesthetically, the PV5 is recognizable as a Kia, but with a slightly more angular, functional silhouette – wide outline, high roof – emphasizing practical utility rather than ornate sportiness.
