VIDEO: Renault Trafic E-Tech – First introduction

September 30, 2022

Electric Renault bus

At the IAA Transportation – the trade fair for the European transport sector – Renault presented the 100% electric version of its Trafic Van. It is the third electric commercial vehicle from the French automaker, which already has an electric Kangoo E-Tech and Master E-Tech in the showroom. The Master is now even available with a hydrogen powertrain: the Master H2-Tech.

Specifications

The green Trafic is equipped with a 120-hp electric motor, which we already know from the Renault Zoe. The battery also comes from Renault’s electric hatchback and has a capacity of 52 kWh. The result is a range of 240 kilometers (WLTP). Charging can be done at home with 7 kW and at a public charging bale up to 22 kW. Fast charging can take the bus up to 50 kW.

Cargo space and towing weight

The battery pack is under the floor, giving the electric Trafic as much space as its traditional brother. Available in two lengths (5.08 m and 5.48 m) and two heights (1.96 m and 2.49 m), the Trafic E-Tech offers a load length of up to 4.15 m. It may tow up to 750 kg and transport up to 1.1 tons.

Technology

The interior, like the exterior, is identical to the regular Trafic. An 8-inch infotainment screen flaunts on the dashboard, and numerous cup holders and a sea of storage space make a Trafic driver’s life extra pleasant. The same goes for all the safety and driving assistance systems that are present and ensure that users get home safely even after a long working day. Consider features such as lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, emergency braking and traffic sign recognition. Fleet managers can use an app to see remotely where the buses are and whether they are being used cleanly. They can also see at a glance which buses are due for charging. In the video below, we tell you more about the Renault Trafic E-Tech.
