Spotted: too many to mention

May 20, 2023

A brief introduction. The EMWalhalla is an event organized by the club Every Brand Worthy. A club dedicated to the mavericks of automotive land. There is probably no car club with more diversity. Almost anything on four wheels can be found in the club, though. From obscure models to cars that were simply never officially delivered in the Netherlands or Europe. Or conversely, once commonplace models that have again fallen from collective memory. Age is not considered: even current cars are welcome, as long as they deviate from the norm.

Watching and driving

The setup of the EMWalhalla is actually quite simple. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., visitors are free to enter and exit the grounds of Louwman’s Toyota World. The collection at Louwman’s Toyota World is also exceptionally open to the public. Entrance to EMWalhalla is nevertheless free, even if you do not come with a special car. Of course, a voluntary donation to the organization is always welcome.

EMWalhalla offers more than just special car viewing. Twice during the day there is the Flop Gear show, where visitors can have their car introduced to the audience by an enthusiastic presenter. What’s special is that you can even test drive various cars. Not to buy them afterwards, but just to experience them for yourself. This year’s menu of choices included a three-wheeled Reliant Robin, a comfortable Citroën Xantia Break, a luxurious Fiat 130, a beautiful Peugeot 404, a futuristic Oldsmobile Silhouette and even a modern MG ZS EV.

High expectations exceeded

Last year, the EMWalhalla was organized for the first time in its current form and under that name. It was a bit of an experiment, but visitors and organizers alike exceeded expectations. Both in numbers and diversity, the turnout was impressive. View our photo report of EMWalhalla 2022 here.

After last year’s event, we went to the 2023 EMWalhalla with high expectations – and they were exceeded yet again. This year the turnout was even greater. Organizers estimate that 400 to 500 cars were there throughout the day. Again, the diversity was enormous. From an Ogle GT to a Ranger 1700, an Australian Ford Fairmont or an American Renault Alliance. And how often do you see a Proton? Here there were two!

Below you will find our photo report of the event, although it might be better to speak of a photo impression. After all, it is impossible to show everything. We were there at 10:30 and by the official end at 3 p.m. we were only just about “bored,” insofar as you can get bored at this event at all. Check out the photos below and especially keep an eye on www.elkmerkwaardig.nl when the next EMW event takes place.
