Nissan Juke (2027): electric and extreme design

April 16, 2026

Characteristic and extreme design

During the Vision Event at the global headquarters in Japan, the vision for the market was presented. The focus is clear: the new Juke is a crucial puzzle piece in Nissan’s electrification strategy within Europe. Ever since its debut in 2010, the Nissan Juke has been breaking with the prevailing norms in automotive land. That bold and unconventional design has not hurt the brand: more than 1.5 million European car buyers have already fallen for a Juke. With the third generation, the Nissan Juke steps into the EV landscape.

Also with Vehicle-to-Grid technology

The 100% electric Juke does not stand alone. The model joins a broad and growing lineup of electrified Nissan models in Europe. Moreover, the new Juke – like the new LEAF – features smart Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. This makes the car not only a consumer of power, but also allows it to be actively integrated into the larger electricity grid. For those for whom the step to all-electric is still too big, Nissan maintains freedom of choice: the existing Juke HEV (hybrid) will simply remain available in parallel with this new electric variant.

According to Massimiliano Messina, Chairman of Nissan AMIEO, Europe is the absolute core of this direction. He emphasizes that with this growing offering and strong regional innovative strength, the brand aims to accelerate the transition to zero-emission mobility.

For Europe

Despite its unveiling in Japan, the new Juke breathes Europe. The car has been designed and developed specifically for European consumers, thanks to a network of design and engineering teams in Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom.Production takes place in Sunderland, UK. This location is the absolute hub in Nissan’s European production network for electric cars; the new generation LEAF also rolls off the assembly line here and the first test phase for the Juke production will start there shortly.

Clíodhna Lyons, Region Vice President Product, Brand & Marketing Strategy, sums it all up, “The Juke has always been about defying conventions with extreme design. The first electric generation continues that rebellious spirit, helping the brand tap into completely new audiences and further expand consumer choice.”

Market launch in 2027

Fans of the extreme design and electric driving will have to be patient for a very long time: the introduction of the new Nissan Juke is scheduled for spring 2027.
