New Volkswagen Tiguan has a price

December 19, 2023

Bestseller

The Tiguan has been a bestseller within Volkswagen’s lineup for years. More than 45,000 copies have been sold in the Netherlands since its launch. The third generation of the Tiguan retains the recognizable Volkswagen appearance, but at the same time has been completely redesigned. The front is equipped with flat, integrated headlights, between which there is a glass crossbar that can be optionally fitted with an LED strip. The grille is positioned in the bumper and so-called air-curtains are integrated on the sides, ensuring efficient air conduction.

More interior space

At 4,539 mm long, the new Tiguan is only slightly larger than its predecessor, but the brand says it still offers significantly more space. For example, eTSI-powered versions have 37 liters more luggage space (652 liters total) than before.

Hybrid

The new Tiguan sits on the MQB Evo platform, which was developed specifically to accommodate electrification. For example, there is a choice of two new 48V mild-hybrid powertrains for all versions. This 1.5 eTSI, which leads the way in terms of availability in the Netherlands, delivers 96 kW/130 hp or 110 kW/150 hp and comes standard with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Shortly after the sales launch of the 1.5 eTSI mild-hybrid, the new Tiguan can also be ordered as a 1.5 eHybrid with plug-in hybrid technology, optionally with 150 kW/204 hp or 200 kW/272 hp and also mated ex-factory to a 6-speed DSG transmission. The all-electric range of these eHybrid models is about 100 kilometers. All hybrid models feature front-wheel drive. The Tiguan is allowed to tow 1,800 kg.

This is what the new Tiguan costs

The Tiguan 1.5 eTSI comes from 46,990 euros. The Tiguan 1.5 eHybrid (Life Edition and R-Line Business) will follow early next year with a starting price of 50,990 euros. The R-Line Business starts at 53,990 euros and offers a full upgrade with R-Line styling for the interior and exterior, including Ambient Lighting and 20-inch alloy wheels. Starting in late March, the new Tiguan will be at Dutch Volkswagen dealerships.
