New Suzuki GSX-8S (2023) just under 10 grand

December 24, 2022

Suzuki calls the GSX-8S a streetfighter because of the muscular and brutal shapes of this new naked bike. Characteristic in the design are the superimposed headlights with LED lighting. The 776cc twin-cylinder engine delivers 61 kW (82.9 hp). There is also a variant for A2 license holders with an output of 35 kW (47.5 hp).

Surprisingly complete equipment

The Suzuki GSX-8S is surprisingly complete. As a rider, you look out onto a cockpit with a multifunctional 5-inch color TFT display. Standard equipment includes the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) with a choice of three driving modes. The ride-by-wire throttle control provides a controllable throttle response.

Electronic driver assistance

The Suzuki Intelligent Ride System electronics package (SIRS) and the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) ensure maximum confidence. The KYB suspension, 120/70 front tire and wide 180/55 rear tire provide precision, grip and control in the most challenging conditions. The new 776cc parallel-twin with 270° crankshaft features the patented Suzuki Cross Balancer mechanism and is paired with a Bi-directional (up & down) quickshifter as standard.

V-Strom 800DE new member of the V-Strom family

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE comes in between the V-Strom 650 and the updated V-Strom 1050. Like the Suzuki GSX-8S, the V-Strom 800DE features the new 776cc parallel-twin mated to a Bi-directional (up & down) quickshifter. The parallel-twin engine is mounted in a steel frame with a lightweight aluminum swingarm. Together with a 21-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel with spokes and Showa adjustable suspension front and rear with long 220 mm suspension travel, this provides an optimal package for riding on paved or unpaved terrain.

Adjustable ABS and Traction Control

The V-Strom 800DE has standard adjustable ABS and Traction Control with Gravel mode. The ABS on the rear wheel can be switched off providing the desired braking control on gravel and other unpaved surfaces. Thanks to the special Gravel mode (G-mode), the motorcycle remains controllable and still offers the desired power delivery to explore dirt roads and trails with more confidence.

Linking navigation and smartphone

The 5-inch color TFT display is clearly readable, and a 5-volt USB connector is provided on the left side for charging a navigation system or smartphone. Standard equipment also includes LED lighting with the hexagonal lamps, a hallmark of Suzuki’s new design language.
