Morris JE is a retro electric van: have at it!

March 21, 2023

Carbon fiber body construction

The Morris JE is an all-new electric van inspired by the iconic Morris J-Type from the 1950s. Unique to the Morris JE is the lightweight carbon fiber body construction to keep the weight down. Most components are both recycled and recyclable to minimize the carbon footprint.

Morris JE delivery in 2024

Attention is guaranteed, as this electric van looks particularly endearing. Morris Commercial aims to start delivery in early 2024. Placing a pre-order is already possible. It is also already possible to put together one through the online configurator. There is a choice of a van version or a genuine pickup truck. The company provides striking color combinations, including for the interior.

Technical Information

Technical information about the battery pack is not yet known, although it appears to be a 60 kWh battery. For now, Morris Commercial mentions only its range of converted 400 kilometers. A 50 kWh fast charger charges the Morris JE’s battery from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Via a 7 kW charger, charging takes up to 9 hours.

Skateboard Design

The body panels are made of recycled carbon fiber. The chassis in “skateboard design” is made entirely of aluminum. The front and rear bumper are made of a mix of recycled carbon fiber and other materials to provide more crash-resistant properties, according to the manufacturer. Thanks to its lightweight design, the Morris JE has a payload of 1,000 kilograms and a cargo volume of 6.6 m³ (2 europallets).

Price Morris JE

The Morris JE has a likely starting price of 60,000 pounds when it goes on sale in late 2023. Final prices will not follow until the market launch.
