August 21, 2023

Important milestone

“The presentation of the all-electric Lamborghini Lanzador concept car is an important milestone in the history of our company and defines our path toward decarbonization and electrification,” said Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. “It was very nice to see the positive response from our valued customers to this vision of a future all-electric, fourth mass-produced Lamborghini.”

Lamborghini Lanzador, an Ultra GT

The Lamborghini Lanzador opens a new segment for the brand, that of the Ultra GT. The ingredients? An electric powertrain, increased ground clearance and a 2+2 interior layout. According to Lamborghini, the Lanzador combines the performance of a super sports car with everyday practicality.

Coming in 2028

The Lamborghini Lanzador has an AWD system with an electric motor on each drive shaft. But real technical specifications are not yet released by the Italians. Lamborghini plans to electrify its entire product lineup by the end of 2024: the company is investing more than 1.9 billion euros in four years to convert to hybrid technology, the largest investment in the Italian brand’s history. This Lanzador – the fourth model for Lamborghini – is not only a technical demonstration model, but also a sophisticated “laboratory on wheels” in the field of sustainable materials. The production version of the concept car will be available starting in 2028.

By the way, the car is named after a Spanish fighting bull. Lanzador in Spanish means “pitcher.
