Even more power for Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback

November 29, 2022

More power for Audi RS 6 and RS 7

How was that higher engine power achieved? Actually quite simple. Audi increased the turbo pressure from 2.4 to 2.6 bar. As a result, engine output increased by 30 hp and 50 Nm to 630 hp and 850 Nm. As a result, the RS 6 and RS 7 are also faster to 100 km/h: 3.4 seconds instead of 3.6 seconds from before. Lower weight also contributes to this.

More engine noise on board

Less sound insulation in the engine compartment, interior and rear reduces weight by eight kilograms. The Audi RS 6 Avant Performance weighs 2,090 kilograms on the road versus 2,065 kilograms for the RS 7 Sportback Performance.

Drive

The V8 engine – mated to an eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission – sends power to all wheels via a quattro system. The system can direct up to 70 percent of drive forces toward the front axle and 85 percent toward the rear axle. The Audi RS 6 Avant Performance and Audi RS 7 Sportback Performance now feature as standard on 21-inch alloy wheels with 275/35 tires.

New lightweight 22-inch wheels

Optionally, Audi provides extra-light 22-inch five-spoke wheels. This new wheel design is about five kilograms lighter compared to the 22-inch wheels on the outgoing 600-horsepower RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback. Those who opt for 22-inch alloys on the new RS versions can thus save 20 kilograms on unsprung weight. These wheels are fitted with Continental Sport Contact 7 285/30 tires.

RS Dynamic Package standard

On the Performance versions of the Audi RS 6 Avant and RS 7 Sportback, Audi supplies the RS Dynamic Package as standard, which automatically raises the top speed to 280 km/h. Optionally, Audi provides the RS Dynamic Package Plus. In this case, you get a top speed of 305 km/h and a carbon ceramic braking system. There is a choice of gray, red or blue calipers. The brake discs of this system have a diameter of 440 mm front and 370 mm rear. The carbon ceramic braking system saves about 34 kilograms compared to the steel variants.

Sixteen colors

A total of sixteen exterior colors are available. Completely new are matte Ascari Blue and matte Dew Silver. Several components of the models can be made of carbon fiber.

Delivery of the Audi RS 6 Avant Performance and RS 7 Sportback Performance will begin in early 2023. Prices Audi will announce soon.
