Don’t be shocked by the price of the new Toyota GR Yaris
Pretty affordable, such a GR Yaris … net.
The net prices of a Toyota GR Yaris are not even that shockingly high. The base version costs a net 39,000 euros. With some VAT (8,236 euros), you then arrive at just over 47,000 euros. For a street-legal rally car with 206 kW (280 hp) and adjustable all-wheel drive, that’s obviously a super deal!
Always that BPM
But unfortunately, in the Netherlands we have to deal with BPM. And it is sloppy thanks to a CO2 emission of 197 grams per kilometer. Very sloppy. You’ll pay a hefty 33,419 euros in BPM on the “entry-level” new GR Yaris. That lifts the consumer suggested retail price of the new GR Yaris to 81,795 euros. For that amount, you get the Performance version.

Toyota GR Yaris Performance
As Performance, the new GR Yaris features all the novelties: the new G16E-GTS 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 280 hp and maximum torque of 390 Nm, the new seating position, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen for the Toyota Smart Connect Plus multimedia system.
Torsen Limited Slip differentials front and rear are also standard, as are 18-inch black alloy wheels and sport seats. The electronically controlled, permanent all-wheel drive system GR-FOUR has been revised. This AWD system was developed specifically for the car and offers three modes: Normal, Sport and Track.
As standard, the GR Yaris also features the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense, which includes Pre Collision System (PCS), Automatic High Beam (AHB), Lane Trace Assist (LTA), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (iACC). As mentioned, the GR Yaris Performance is available from 81,795 euros for the manual version. With the GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission, the GR Yaris Performance is available starting at 94,295 euros.
Toyota GR Yaris Premium
As a Premium, the GR Yaris gets the necessary luxury extras. For example, the car is equipped with steering wheel and seat heating, Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) blind spot detection, intelligent front and rear parking sensors with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and a JBL Premium sound system with eight speakers. The GR Yaris Premium also features lightweight 18-inch forged alloy wheels. The GR Yaris Premium can be ordered from 85,795 euros for the manual version. With the GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission, the GR Yaris Performance is available starting at 98,295 euros.
Almost 100,000 euros!
Potjandrie: a GR Yaris with a price tag of nearly 100,000 euros. That, of course, is only possible in the Netherlands. On the 1.6 Turbo Premium 4WD with automatic – which therefore costs 98,295 euros – you will pay a whopping 43,301 euros in BPM. That’s because the automatic has the higher CO2 emissions of 215 g/km. In the Netherlands, this results in additional CO2 penalties.

GR Yaris available to order now
Toyota is adding a new exterior color to the GR Yaris: Precious Metal. Other colors include Emotional Red, Precious Black and Super White/Platinum White Pearlescent. These are all colors that refer to the livery of Toyota GAZOO Racing’s race cars.
The new Toyota GR Yaris is available for order immediately. This does not apply to the Special Editions of the GR Yaris. Of the Special Editions, one Sébastien Ogier Edition and one Kalle Rovanperä Edition is coming to the Netherlands. Interested parties can contact the dealer to sign up for these models. The prices of these limited edition models are not yet known; they will follow soon. By the way, these limited editions all have a manual transmission.
