Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta has wings, even at the bottom!
Most extreme RSV4 ever
The Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta is the most extreme RSV4 ever, that much is clear. The special edition follows in the footsteps of previous limited editions. For example, the RSV4 X – presented in 2019 – was a resounding success. Recently, Aprilia also introduced the Tuono X: the most powerful and lightest hypernaked bike ever.
Now – on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Aprilia’s first world championship title – the Aprilia Racing team had the inspiration to develop the most extreme RSV4 ever. And it did. Because this machine requires an experienced driver.
Striking color scheme
The livery of the new 166-kilogram Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta – used by Lorenzo Savadori in the Austrian GP – represents a contemporary interpretation of the Aprilia worn in the 1992 125cc MotoGP class.
A lot of carbon
All parts of the carbon fairing are made by PAN Compositi using the same processes used in MotoGP. The design features winglets at the front to exert more pressure on the front wheel. Also, this Italian thoroughbred superbike has rear wings.
Including ‘lower wing’
But that’s not all: the RSV4 XTrenta is the first production motorcycle in the world to have an “underwing” on the swingarm. This lower wing is commonly referred to as the “spoon” in MotoGP. Downward pressure increases by 25 percent thanks to this lower wing, while drag is reduced by 4 percent.
Aprilia RSV4 Factory 2022 forms the basis
At the base of the Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta was the Aprilia RSV4 Factory 2022. But Aprilia Racing did make the necessary adjustments. Increasing the compression ratio and installing a titanium exhaust system created by partner SC-Project lift peak power to a solid 230 hp. A Sprint Filter air filter with MotoGP and Formula 1 materials completes the equipment. An all-titanium muffler – whose design is directly derived from that of a MotoGP machine – is available as an option.
