This story is behind the Genesis Magma GT Concept
Performance icon
The Genesis Magma GT Concept aligns with the high-performance strategy that Genesis announced earlier this year during CEO Investor Day in New York. There, the brand confirmed that the model is to become a performance icon and that Genesis is working toward long-term participation in GT racing. The Magma GT Concept was developed as a visual and strategic starting point for Genesis’ future performance direction. The model represents the basis for an upcoming performance lineup in which a halo model will take the lead role. Genesis will also come out with a GV60 Magma.
Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Creative Officer of Genesis
“The Magma GT Concept shows how we see performance,” explained Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Creative Officer of Genesis. “The model symbolizes our commitment to true motorsport. It is not about raw aggression or pure speed, but about balance. The car feels directly connected to the driver, remains stable under pressure and is tuned in detail to one goal: to take performance for granted. The Magma GT does not demand proof of skill; rather, it reinforces it. This is not just a faster Genesis; this is the most complete expression of Genesis performance to date.”

Luxury High Performance
The Genesis Magma GT Concept is the first pure sports car from Genesis and represents an important element in its evolution toward Luxury High Performance. The car represents the concept of Effortless Performance, where balance and confidence are central. The concept car shows how future performance models of the brand will be designed. Thanks to a mid-rear engine, the Magma GT Concept marks the brand’s ambitions to explore the GT class.

Aerodynamic efficiency
The second race car in Genesis’ history, the Magma GT Concept immediately shows its sporty character. All surfaces and proportions are designed for aerodynamic efficiency and optimum performance. Important design elements include:
- a low front and a long, sloping roofline for an aerodynamic profile
- Wide, muscular rear fenders that reinterpret classic GT proportions within the Genesis design philosophy Athletic Elegance
- a cockpit with “boat-tail” shape that narrows toward the rear and emphasizes the low, wide stance
- Front canards integrated into the headlights for added downforce and brand identity
- G-Matrix aerodynamic patterns that fan out from the front splitter and act as air conduction elements
- a twin-line taillight and optimized rear aero structure for a recognizable and wide silhouette
