This is now the cheapest EV with more than 500 kilometers of range
Cheapest EV
With a range of 510 kilometers (WLTP), the Kona Electric is currently the cheapest EV in the Netherlands to break the 500-kilometer mark. Not for nothing did we already make a video about it last year – you can watch it at the bottom of this article. And now Hyundai is going the extra mile: the price has been lowered again. Last year it was still just under 40 million in the price list, but now you can get in from 35,995 euros.
Pure Edition
We are talking about the KONA Electric Pure Edition Long Range. A version where you might think it’s mostly about that range, and that Hyundai has stripped out everything else luxury. But nothing could be further from the truth. This trim is surprisingly complete. Adaptive cruise control, Privacy glass, heated steering wheel, parking sensors, rearview camera, dual-zone air conditioning and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation? Just all standard on board.

For those who can get by just fine with a little less mileage – or need to keep a tighter budget – there is the Standard Range variant. It still gets 380 kilometers (WLTP) and is 3,000 euros cheaper. In terms of looks, you don’t sacrifice anything: both versions have the same design, alloy wheels and LED lighting.

IONIQ 5
Do you prefer something more spacious and even a touch more futuristic? Then there’s the IONIQ 5 Pure Edition. This discounted version also comes in two flavors: Standard Range (440 kilometers) and Long Range (570 kilometers). The SR starts at 43,995 euros and the LR comes from 47,995 euros. Again, these are not meager entry-level models: standard features include an electric tailgate, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel and a Bose audio system with subwoofer. Plenty of luxury.
