R 1300 RT with latest boxer engine
All these generations have one thing in common: a twin cylinder boxer engine. The R 1300 RT has the latest version of this boxer with a displacement of 1,300cc and an output of 145 hp at a maximum torque of 149 Nm. If those figures look familiar to you, then you know they are exactly the same as those of the R 1300 GS introduced in 2024: the king among adventure bikes.
Low weight
Of course, every BMW connoisseur has long known that after that 1300 GS, the R, RT and RS models would also come with the new powertrains. Plus a completely new frame and suspension. The 1300 RT light is relatively lightweight for a touring motorcycle. Ready to ride with an almost full tank it comes out at 281 kg. It also allows for a low seat height of just 780 mm.

BMW has optimized the ergonomics of the R 1300 RT for a more active riding position. You sit more forward. The adjustable seat height and new pannier systems offer both rider comfort and more space for the passenger. The innovative Vario pannier system can be adjusted from 27 to 33 liters and is combined with electric central locking and a USB-C charging port in the left pannier.

Multiple driving modes
The new R 1300 RT offers three riding modes (Rain, Road, Eco). The Riding Modes Pro option adds even more sporty riding modes, such as Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. In addition, the Automated Shift Assist (ASA) makes shifting easier, with an automatic clutch and the choice of manual or automatic shifting.

Frame and suspension
The BMW R 1300 RT has a new main frame made of steel and an aluminum rear frame. This ensures lower weight and improved steering precision. The new EVO Telelever front fork and EVO Paralever rear suspension contribute to stability and ride comfort. The optional Dynamic Chassis Adaption (DCA) offers two riding positions that automatically adjust suspension and damping for a balance between comfort and sporty handling.

Safety and lighting
Safety is a priority for BMW, and this is evident on the R 1300 RT. The bike is equipped with LED lighting all around, including an adaptive headlight that adjusts to riding conditions. The optional Headlight Pro adjusts the beam depending on the bike’s inclination and speed. In addition, the R 1300 RT offers numerous driving assistance systems, such as Active Cruise Control (ACC) and Front Collision Warning (FCW).

Infotainment and connectivity
A wide 10.25-inch TFT screen offers a clear picture. Navigation is integrated. A new Connectivity Hub allows easy connection of accessories such as smart glasses, heated clothing and other devices. For music and communication, the bike can be equipped with an audio system or the Audio Pro option, for a premium sound experience on the road.

Luggage and comfort
For long rides, the new BMW R 1300 RT is equipped with advanced luggage options. The standard cases have a capacity of 27 liters and are equipped with lighting and a USB charging port. The new Vario system allows adjustment of the cases from 27 to 33 liters, while the optional top case offers additional storage space.
