Suzuki GSX-R1000R: 25 years young!
In 2025, Suzuki will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic GSX-R family. A great time for an updated GSX-R1000R, with improved performance, modern electronics and a sharp design. And it meets the most stringent emission and noise standard Euro 5+.
GSX-R1000 for 25 years already
Since the introduction of the first GSX-R1000 in 2001, this model has been a fixture in the world of supersport motorcycles. Suzuki has won 15 world titles in the FIM Endurance World Championship with the race version. Plus numerous more victories in the national and international road racing circuit. This machine is known as “The King of Sportbikes.”

Engine of GSX-R1000R refined
The more than 200-hp 999.8cc four-cylinder has been refined in several ways. It has a higher compression ratio, lighter pistons, optimized intake and exhaust ducts and an improved ride-by-wire system. The new 4-2-1 exhaust system with a slimmer final muffler also contributes to performance as well as appearance.

Smart electronics GSX-R1000R
New is Smart TLR Control, which combines advanced driver assistance systems with the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.). Think traction control with 10 modes, wheelie and skid control, launch control, a bi-directional quickshifter and a Motion Track Brake System for stable braking in corners. Also present: Low RPM Assist, an updated electronic steering damper and three adjustable driving modes. To power all this stably, the GSX-R1000R is equipped with a new P-series lithium-ion battery from Eliiy, which is lighter and more durable.

Brembo brakes
The GSX-R1000R comes standard with high-performance Bridgestone Battlax RS11 tires. And it has a powerful Brembo brake system with radially mounted calipers. The aluminum 6-spoke rims and aerodynamic design add to its track-worthy character. For those who want even more downforce, optional dry-carbon winglets are available. Those are designed by Team Suzuki CN Challenge, which is active in the World Endurance Championship.

Homage to 40 years of the GSX-R
Suzuki is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the GSX-R series with three striking color schemes. These nod to classic racing colors. Special 40th Anniversary logos and details complete the celebration. In addition, Suzuki will participate in the Suzuka 8 Hours 2025 in August with a GSX-R1000R running on 100% renewable fuel.

And what does the GSX-R1000R cost?
Alas! Suzuki reports that more information on pricing and availability will follow later this year. However, the Suzuki GSX-R1000R does come with a 6-year warranty and 6 years of mobility service – unique in this segment.
