Show premieres and spectacle from BMW at MOTORbeurs Utrecht
This year marks BMW Motorrad’s 100th anniversary. The MOTORbeurs Utrecht (February 23 – 26) will therefore set the stage for the kickoff of a series of celebrations, including the presentation of a special first: the 100 Years Edition of the BMW R nineT.
BMW R nineT
The BMW R nineT 100 Years Edition stands out with special paint, chromed surfaces and unique milled components and wheels. Its classic styling makes the R nineT a signpost for the brand’s history anyway. Especially since the boxer engine plays a starring role in this motorcycle. This type of motorcycle is the common thread in BMW Motorrad’s 100-year history.
Sports show premieres
BMW Motorrad’s other show premieres are sure to make the hearts of sporty riders beat faster. The M 1000 R is the second M model, a super sporty Roadster weighing only 199 kg. The 4-cylinder engine is based on the power unit of the BMW S 1000 RR and produces 154 kW (210 hp). This makes it one of the most powerful Roadsters on the market, with superior performance including acceleration from 0-200 km/h in 7.2 seconds and a top speed of over 300 km/h.
New M 1000 RR at Motor Fair Utrecht
As the ultimate track-derived superbike, the M 1000 RR adds to that. Thanks to targeted stylistic changes and extra hefty winglets, drag has been improved for even greater stability and a higher top speed of 314 km/h. The 4-cylinder engine delivers 156 kW (212 hp) of power. Thanks to numerous carbon fiber components, the weight has been reduced to just 192 kg.
BMW GS Adventure Arena
The BMW Motorrad GS Adventure Arena will host the 2023 Indoor GS Trophy. Experienced riders will have a chance to show off their riding techniques. The Arena has several loops containing various devices where good balance, throttle/clutch control and viewing technique make the difference. Each day, several riders compete for honors and prizes on the BMW R 1250 GS provided by BMW Motorrad.
GS DiscoveRide
In addition, you can participate in the GS DiscoveRide under supervision. Under professional guidance, you will complete an adventurous course on a BMW F 750 GS. BERRT’s instructors talk about the off-road qualities of BMW Motorrad’s GS models in the BMW Motorrad GS Adventure. Motorprofessional will accompany the GS DiscoveRide and explain to visitors the proper way to ride a motorcycle in order to be safe and confident on the road. You can put these tips into practice right away on the Test Track, where no fewer than 25 motorcycles from BMW Motorrad are available for test riding, including the R 1250 GS, R 18 models and the all-electric CE 04.
