Various works

Rijkswaterstaat is also carrying out extensive work on freeways at various locations in the Netherlands this year. This often involves complete closures, usually on weekends or during the week, to enable major maintenance, asphalting work or widening projects. We list more than sixty projects that you, as a road user, may have to take into account. View the document Reporting National Highway Network 2024 here.

The date listed below is the project start date. Roadwork that has already occurred has been removed based on the publication date of this post.

January 1, 2025 to December 31,
On the A28 near Wezep – Hattemerbroek, there is major maintenance on the overpasses at Hattemerbroek interchange, with narrowed lanes and weekday closures from January 1 to December 31.

Jan. 1 to May 12, 2025
On the A10 between Coenplein and Zeeburger Tunnel, noise barriers will be replaced in night closures from Jan. 1 to May 12.

Jan. 26 to Dec. 20, 2025
The A4 at Kethelplein will be closed overnight in both directions between Feb. 21 and Dec. 20 for maintenance on the Kethel Tunnel.

March 28 to July 14, 2025
The A1 between Barneveld and Apeldoorn-Zuid will be closed for major maintenance and asphalting from March 28 to July 14.

March 28 to May 12 2025
Two full weekend closures for asphalt maintenance will take place on the A67 between Leenderheide and Randweg N2 from March 28 to May 12.

April 11, 2025
The connecting arches on the A2 towards Kerensheide will be closed for asphalt maintenance from April 11 to 14.

April 12, 2025
The A58 between Sint Annabosch and Galder will be closed from April 12 to 14.

April 13, 2025
The A76 near Kerensheide will be closed overnight April 13-17 for asphalt maintenance.

April 18, 2025
The A73 between Maasbrug and Venray-North will be completely closed from April 18 to June 2 due to work on the main roadway.

April 18, 2025
The N2 between Batadorp and De Hogt/Randweg N2-Zuid will be closed for two weekends from April 18 to 28 for asphalting work.

April 22, 2025
The A58 between De Baars and Best will be completely closed from April 25 to 28 for maintenance.

May 2, 2025
The A9 between Badhoevedorp and Holendrecht will be closed from May 2 to May 5 due to work on the Schiphol-Amsterdam-Almere corridor.

May 3, 2025
Two full weekend closures will take place from May 3 to 12 between Deil and Tiel-West (A15).

May 7, 2025
The A59 between Zonzeel and Raamsdonkseveer will be closed from May 10 to 11 for road maintenance.

May 6, 2025
The N9 between Julianadorp, Den Helder and Leeuwarden will get new asphalt and new traffic systems (matrix signs, detection loops) between May 6 and 15.

May 16, 2025
On the A73 near Wijchen and Ewijk, lane work will take place from May 16 to July 7 with several night closures and weekend closures.

Six night closures will take place between Scheveningen and Noordwijkerhout (N44 – A44) from May 16 to June 7.

The A50 between Paalgraven and Nistelrode will be completely closed from May 16 to 19 due to maintenance between the Paalgraven interchange and the Nistelrode junction.

At Enschede-West to Vliegveld via A35, weekend closures are planned between May 17 and June 23 for various maintenance work such as gully cleaning and asphalt repair.

The A58 at Perch-Tilburg-Reeshof will be closed the weekend of May 26-29.

The A16 between Ridderkerk-North and Capelle a/d IJssel will be closed for several days between May 28 and June 6 for bridge maintenance.

On the A16 motorway between Dordrecht and Ridderkerk-Zuid, Rijkswaterstaat is carrying out maintenance on the nights from June 30 to October 8.

The A10 Nieuwe Meer – Amsterdam-Overamstel will be closed between June 13 and June 16 due to foundation work.

Additional Heat-resistant cladding will be installed on the A10 between Amsterdam-West and Tuindorp Oostzaan between July 11 and September 15.

The N33 between Gieten and Assen will have a weekday closure from July 9 to 16.

Between Strand Nulde and Nijkerk (A28), the road will be closed twice for one weekend for major maintenance from July 7 to 31.

The A58 between De Stok and Etten-Leur will be closed for maintenance for several days from July 25 to August 13.

The A13 between Delft-Zuid and Kleinpolderplein will be completely closed during the weekend of July 28-30 for major asphalt maintenance.

The A2 between Leenderheide and Batadorp will have a multi-day closure from Aug. 1 to 18 for major asphalt maintenance.

The A29 between Dinteloord and Hellegatsplein will have night closures from Sept. 3 to 30.

Several closures will take place on the A12 between Veenendaal-West and Lunetten from August 9 to September 1 to apply new asphalt.

On the A4 between Zoomland and Hoogerheide, the road will be completely closed from August 9 to 11.

The A15 between Brielle and Oosterhout will be completely closed on the night of August 10-11 for asphalting work.

Weekday closures are planned in the A27 Oosterhout-Oost to Hooipolder area from August 13 to September 2 due to construction work.

The A27 between Sint Annabosch and Hooipolder will be completely closed for three weekends between August 15 and September 9.

Large-scale asphalting work will take place on the A67 between De Hogt/Randweg Eindhoven and Weste – De Beerse from Sept. 19 to 22 between junction de Hogt and the Belgian border.

The A2 between Nederweert and Leenderheide will be completely closed over the weekend from Oct. 24 to 27 due to major maintenance between Het Vonderen interchange and Leenderheide interchange.

On the N36 between Dedemsvaart/Radewijk and Hardenberg/Ommen, multi-day closures will take place for major maintenance from Oct. 6 to 26.

Between Diemen and Eemnes (A1) there will be work on the Naardertrekvaart viaduct from Oct. 31 to Nov. 24.

November 14, 2025
The Gouwe-Aqueduct on the A12 will be worked on between November 14 and December 15, with weekend closures towards Prins Clausplein.
