Peugeot comes out with ‘fat’ motor scooter XP400

February 17, 2023

Peugeot’s XP400 further stands out for its large 17-inch front wheel. This is larger than any other motor scooter in this cc class. With the XP400 GT, the wheel even has spokes. The rear wheel is 15-inch in size.

Peugeot XP400 sharp design

Fairing and sheet metal have a remarkably angular and sharp design, as indeed you see in Honda’s X-ADVs. The dual LED headlights make the front end look wide, so the motor scooter really does look “fat.

Performance?

Does it then also deliver matching performance? Yes indeed, it is currently the most powerful 400cc single-cylinder motor scooter with 26.5 kW (36.7 hp) at 8,150 rpm and 38.1 Nm of torque at 5,400 rpm.

Large front wheel

In doing so, the Peugeot XP400 has more ingredients that favor sporty steering. The large front wheel already naturally provides stability, but it gets additional support from an upside down front fork with 41 mm diameter struts. The brake discs are also of hefty caliber. In the front, both of these have a 295 mm diameter and in the rear there is a single 240 mm disc. The front calipers are of the radial type.

When is the XP400 coming?

Totally in keeping with the zeitgeist are LED lighting all around and a color display in the cockpit with all forms of connectivity. Peugeot listed the new model on its French website. In the course of this year, it will most certainly come on the market and also be added to the delivery program by the Dutch organization. Which, by the way, includes a three-wheeled Peugeot Metropolis 400.
