Opel presents its brand new brand logo

Opel’s new logo remains a central element of the Opel Vizor, one of the main design features of Opel’s models. The lightning bolt – called “Blitz” in German – is closely associated with electricity and is the ideal logo to symbolize Opel’s transition to 100% electric mobility.

“Our ‘Blitz’ is more relevant than ever. It not only symbolizes our commitment to the democratization of innovation and mobility, but also demonstrates our dedication to becoming an all-electric brand in Europe by 2028. By 2023, we will already have 15 electrified models in our portfolio and can proudly say that Opel is electric,” said Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel.
First production model
Opel is gradually introducing the new “Blitz” across its entire product portfolio over the next few years. As early as 2024, the first production model will get the new logo. However, the logo will also act as early as 2023, Opel CEO Florian Huettl has announced.
The top executive said, “The IAA Mobility is one of the largest car shows in the world and therefore the perfect venue to proudly introduce our new ‘Blitz’ to a large, international audience. Furthermore, we also have a surprise planned. Visitors to this event in Munich will be thrilled.”

IAA Mobility 2023 will take place in Munich from Sept. 5 to 10. Opel will show a total of three world premieres at the event: the new Opel Astra Sports Tourer Electric, the new Opel Corsa Electric and another surprise.
