Nissan Micra prices known: more expensive than the Renault 5?
With over 160,000 units, the Nissan Micra is the best-selling Nissan ever in the Netherlands. Whether the model will once again become a success number and score high depends of course on the price.

Competition in the compact b-segment
The average purchase price of around 50,000 euros has proven to be quite a barrier to moving on to buying a new car. Now this is just an average and the Nissan Micra, a compact B-segmenter, concentrates on a more accessible area of the market with a softer price point.
But, there is also competition for the Micra. In this case, we also take a look at the Renault 5. It plays the same game, but starts just a bit sharper, it turns out:
| Battery | Power | Model | Recommended retail price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40 kWh | 88 kW (120 hp) | Evolution | 27,990 euros |
| 40 kWh | 88 kW (120 hp) | Techno | 29,990 euros |
| 40 kWh | 88 kW (120 hp) | Iconic Cinq | 31,490 euros |
| 52 kWh | 110 kW (150 hp) | Evolution | 30,990 euros |
| 52 kWh | 110 kW (150 hp) | Techno | 32,990 euros |
| 52 kWh | 110 kW (150 hp) | Iconic Cinq | 34,490 euros |
| 52 kWh | 110 kW (150 hp) | Roland-Garros | 35,990 euros |
With the same 40 kWh battery pack and 88 kW (120 hp) of power, the Evolution version costs 27,990 euros. The 52 kWh variant will be on your driveway for a minimum of 30,990 euros. Do the math: the Micra is more expensive in all comparable versions.
| Battery | Power | Micra entry price | Renault 5 entry price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 kWh | 120 hp | 29,590 euros | 27,990 euros | 1,600 euros more expensive |
| 52 kWh | 150 hp | 34,590 euros | 30,990 euros | 3,600 euros more expensive |
That’s not even mentioning the Renault 5 Five, a very accessible version that will soon be offered starting at 24,990 euros.
Electric driving ever closer
The differences may be obvious, but both cars have something in common that makes us happy. Namely, they offer electric driving pleasure as well as a total package that still represents good value for money. The days when EVs were mainly something for people with large wallets seem to be fading away.
