New Toyota Hilux is coming: the first images

After 10 years, it is time for a new generation Hilux. Toyota already warms us up with a few teaser images. These clearly show that the ninth generation looks a lot tighter. The pickup gets narrower headlights, a higher hood and a huge grille with the word TOYOTA in cow letters. We already know that from the new Land Cruiser. At the rear, the narrow taillights stand out. Otherwise, the familiar silhouette with wide wheel arches and, in this case, double cab, remains largely preserved.

Under the skin, the Hilux presumably remains true to its roots, with a further developed version of the current generation‘s familiar ladder chassis. We also expect the 2.8-liter turbodiesel to return, this time backed by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Together they deliver some 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. In the Netherlands, the new Hilux will soon face stiff competition from the Ford Ranger and Isuzu D-Max, among others.
