Leapmotor opens its own safety lab for smart vehicles
The new lab Leapmotor in detail
With the rise of vehicles constantly communicating with cloud systems and infrastructure, the need for careful protection of data, networks and vehicle functions is growing. The new lab was created to address this demand. The work focuses on data security, correct system operation and predictable operation of applications using artificial intelligence, among other things. The focus is on a clear premise: safety for the user always comes first.
International standards
The lab works according to international standards for cyber security and functional safety. Leapmotor has developed a methodology that addresses various technical security domains and covers the entire chain of vehicle security. Transparency about these processes should contribute to confidence in the technology.
Intelligent Control Center
A key component of the facility is the Intelligent Control Center. This center uses extensive simulations in which vehicle, cloud and infrastructure communicate with each other. Based on this, data is analyzed, threat information is exchanged and immediate response mechanisms are activated. The control center acts as a central point of analysis within the vehicle and supports decision-making when risks are identified. A specialized team deals with monitoring these processes and improving day-to-day vehicle safety.
How do vehicles respond?
To assess how systems function in a variety of conditions, vehicles are tested in simulated versions of rain, fog, darkness and other complex situations. The lab also accurately simulates malfunctions to examine functional safety. This involves the use of numerous scenarios that are consistent with international guidelines, including ISO 26262 ASIL D. This process should reveal how vehicles react in conditions that may occur in real-world conditions.
Security and Safety Lab
The new Security and Safety Lab guides Leapmotor’s security approach throughout the entire life cycle of a vehicle, from the design phase through to on-road use. The approach emphasizes the role of technological development in enhancing reliability and demonstrates how the brand is working to create mobility that matches drivers’ expectations in a changing market.
