Land Rover seeks adventurers for new Defender Trophy
Three rounds towards the world finals
The format of the competition is multi-layered. Residents of more than 50 countries can apply until December 31, 2025. This will be followed by local and national preliminary rounds. The selected participants will travel to Africa in the fall of 2026 for the world finals, co-hosted by Tusk.
That finale is not only about competition, but also about cooperation. Participants form pairs and are tested on driving skills, resourcefulness and physical endurance. Remarkably, the team with the lowest ranked participant is the first to choose a teammate – a mechanism that is supposed to encourage cooperation and solidarity.
More than a rally: a mission with a purpose
The Defender Trophy is not set up as a classic motorsports competition. It is all about a combination of endurance, team spirit and community involvement. Participants are judged on their ability to make decisions under pressure, overcome obstacles and engage in conservation efforts.
At the same time, their achievements are tracked worldwide through online channels, with which Defender aims to engage a younger generation of enthusiasts in a new kind of adventure – one that extends beyond off-road driving.

Participant requirements and application
Applicants must meet some basic requirements: be at least 23 years old, have a valid driver’s license, be able to swim 50 meters, speak English and be available for international travel. Full admission requirements are on Defender’s official website.
Land Rover Defender 110 Trophy Edition as a signboard
To underline the adventurous nature of the competition, Defender is launching a special version of the car: the Defender 110 Trophy Edition. This version is equipped with extra protection and accessories, such as All-Terrain tires, wheel arch guards and a raised air intake – elements that can come in handy during off-road driving.
Visually, the car stands out with special colors – Deep Sandglow Yellow and Keswick Green – and accents in black, such as the guards and rims. The interior features leather upholstery and details that reference the Trophy edition, such as illuminated door sill strips and a dashboard with unique laser engravings.
For those who set the bar even higher, additional accessories are available, including a roof ladder, roof rack and side racks for wet or dirty equipment. The Defender 110 Trophy Edition can be configured through the brand’s website and is offered starting at 114,555 euros.
A new generation of adventurers
With the Defender Trophy, the brand seeks not only to preserve its heritage, but also to give new meaning to the concept of adventure. Participants must not only be proficient behind the wheel, but also be willing to commit themselves to the protection of nature. This gives this competition a broader social dimension.
