Kawasaki number one in the Netherlands for the first time
Kawasaki has not achieved the No. 1 position in the Dutch motorcycle market since its arrival in 1968. The shining position is due to well-liked models, such as the Kawasaki Z900 and the Versys range.

Needless to say, the flag was immediately hoisted at the Kawasaki Benelux headquarters in Hoofddorp on January 1. Position taken over from Yamaha
Kawasaki has taken over the lead from Yamaha, which became the market leader in 2023 thanks to the successful MT-07 and MT-09. Before that, BMW has been the best-selling motorcycle brand in the Netherlands in a long series of consecutive years thanks in particular to the BMW R 1200 GS and R 1250 GS.
Top 3 motorcycle markets 2024
The new BMW R 1300 GS will be the best-selling motorcycle in 2024, followed by the Yamaha MT-07 and Kawasaki Z900. However, the differences at the top are very small. Yamaha as a brand holds the second position in 2024 followed by BMW in third place.
Rising popularity
Motorcycle sales set another record in the Netherlands in 2o24. In the first nine months, the counter already stood at 17,090 new motorcycles, representing an increase of 10.5% compared to record year 2023. In short, the popularity of motorcycles is growing.
