In a nutshell

In a nutshell, the following are new: new entry-level engines, improved interior design and expanded Black Edition offerings. The EX30 will also be available with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. In addition, future software updates will offer a more intuitive user experience. Several features will also be available at no cost to current EX30 drivers via over-the-air software updates. The EX30 Cross Country range will also be expanded with a Plus trim level and a more efficient single-engine option.  

Powertrains Volvo EX30

The Volvo EX30 introduces a new powertrain that delivers 110 kW (150 hp) with a 51 kWh battery and a range of up to 339 km. Prefer more range? You can upgrade to a larger 69 kWh battery for a range of up to 476 km. The naming of models also changes. There is now talk of a P3, P5 and P8. The P3 has a system output of 110 kW (150 hp) and 51 kWh battery. The P3 is also available as a P3 Long Range with larger 69 kWh battery. There is also a P5 with 150 kW (272 hp). That one comes with 51 or 69 kWh battery. The top model is called P8 AWD and offers 314 kW (428 hp) and 69 kWh. That includes the following overview.

Versions

New UX

A new UX update improves access to the controls most important to riders. A completely redesigned settings and controls system puts the right controls at your fingertips, along with a customizable menu bar that allows the space to be used for the most common features or those most important to the rider.  

Vehicle-to-Load

In addition, the Volvo EX30 is hardware-ready for Vehicle-to-Load, a technology that allows customers to store energy in their electric Volvo’s battery and use it later. This feature (V2L), initially available in select markets, can transform the EX30 into a power bank for charging other electrical devices, such as an electric bike, or for powering devices such as power tools, sound systems and camping equipment. All you need is an adapter that connects your car to the device. The V2L adapter is available as an accessory.

Summer 2026: major update

The addition of V2L and the new UX are expected to be available to new and existing EX30 customers over the summer via wireless software updates.

Two additional premium interior finishes

The EX30 now also introduces two additional premium interior trims.  

Harvest

The “Harvest” interior offers a warm, light-colored aesthetic inspired by late Scandinavian summer nights. It includes light-colored woven upholstery made from recycled textiles, subtly contrasting Nordico upholstery made from recycled materials such as PET bottles, elegant dark flax decorations and a black headliner for a contemporary, natural look.  

Black

The “Black” interior features a deep black hue, combining smooth Nordico upholstery with slightly contrasting seams with a natural, dark linen decor for a timeless look.

Volvo EX30 Black Edition

The EX30 Black Edition is now also available with the new “Black” interior. In addition, three exterior colors can be specified: Onyx Black, Vapour Grey and Crystal White.
