Formula 1 calendar 2026: these are all 24 races!
Formula 1 2026 calendar
Formula One and the FIA have announced the calendar for the 2026 season. Once again that year, the championship will consist of 24 races, spread across five of the seven continents. What makes 2026 extra special: the new technical rules will take effect then, and the cars will run entirely on advanced renewable fuel for the first time.
Start in Australia, final in Abu Dhabi
The season begins the weekend of March 6-8 with the Australian Grand Prix. The final race will take place in Abu Dhabi, from Dec. 4 to 6. Due to Ramadan, which falls in February and March in 2026, the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will not be held until April.
Improved race sequence and new location
The racing calendar has been optimized to improve logistics. For example, the Canadian Grand Prix moves up to May and immediately follows the Miami Grand Prix. That makes it easier to transport stuff through and saves on costs and emissions. In the summer, the F1 circus races mostly in Europe. That European phase begins in Monaco (June 5-7) and ends in Madrid, which is on the calendar for the first time (Sept. 11-13).
Then they travel to Asia for races in Azerbaijan and Singapore. This is followed by a three-race week in America. The season concludes with races in Las Vegas, Qatar and finally Abu Dhabi.
Future of F1 begins in 2026
According to Stefano Domenicali, Formula 1’s top executive, a new era will dawn in 2026. Not only because of renewable fuel and new rules, but also because of the arrival of big car brands such as Audi, Cadillac and Ford. He calls the season “promising.”
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem added that the 2026 championship symbolizes renewal. New races, new teams and new manufacturers provide a breath of fresh air. He emphasizes that the improved scheduling will make the sport more efficient and sustainable. He also thanks everyone who contributed to the creation of the calendar, reiterating how important the role of the fans is to the sport.
