Traits of the former Ford Capri

No, it doesn’t really look like the earlier Ford Capri. But surely this electric-powered reincarnation has some features that allude to it. That’s the signature of the LED headlights, for example. And with some imagination and if you look with your eyes half closed, the rear also has the contours of the very first Ford Capri.

Fully electric, range up to 627 km

The Ford Capri enters the future as an all-electric model. Ford gives a range of up to 627 km (WLTP) with fully charged battery. Other details: a tilting display, luggage space of 572 liters and the possibility of fast charging up to 185 kW.

Seats with heating and massage function

The interior is spacious enough for five occupants. The front seats have integrated headrests, as you used to see on the Ford Capri. They are heatable and so is the steering wheel. Furthermore, the seats also have a massage function. Options include a Bang & Olufsen audio system with ten speakers. Ambiance ambient lighting with a choice of ten colors is in the higher trim levels.

Large center console

The Ford Sync infotainment system has a tiltable 14.6-inch touchscreen. Voice controls are on board and connectivity with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, of course you would almost say. The smartphone storage and charging station is large enough for two. Between the front seats is a hefty storage compartment large enough for a 15-inch screen-sized laptop. And there is room for 1.5-liter bottles.

Fast charging in 26 minutes

And then the performance: the electric motor produces 286 hp and offers 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.4 seconds. The all-wheel-drive Ford Capri produces 340 horsepower and sprints to 100 mph in 5.3 seconds. Despite the larger lithium-ion battery, the range is slightly shorter at a maximum of 592 km. This version does have the more powerful 185 kW charger on board, which can be charged from 10-80% in 26 minutes. The Capri with 286 hp has a 135 kW charger and then it takes 28 minutes to charge from 10-80%.
