Ford Focus ST with ST Track Pack

The Ford Focus ST with ST Track Pack features a suspension developed in cooperation with KW Automotive and is fully customizable, for example for track driving. This suspension forms a harmonious whole with the lightweight alloy wheels. In addition, the ST Track Pack enhances braking performance, thanks to 363 mm front brake discs and Brembo calipers. For optimum grip, the Track Pack is equipped with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires.

KW Automotive

The suspension with coilover kit was developed in cooperation with the motorsport specialists at KW Automotive. The system has stainless steel housings for the dampers. There are 12 settings for upward response and 16 settings for recoil. These two factors allow track day participants to fine-tune the response of their Focus ST even more precisely. The settings can even be adjusted specifically to drivers’ favorite circuits.

The dampers work together with powder-coated springs that are up to 50 percent stiffer and provide a 10 mm lower ride height compared to the standard Focus ST. This provides a lower center of gravity and less body movement during faster cornering. If desired, the driver can lower the ride height by up to another 15 mm, provided this is permitted by local regulations.

19-inch alloy wheels

The 19-inch alloy wheels are produced using a flow-forming process in which the aluminum alloy is compressed. This ensures that tensile strength is maintained, while shock resistance is improved and less material is required, lowering the weight of the rim. The result: wheels that are ten percent lighter than standard wheels, allowing faster vertical direction changes. This, in turn, ensures better contact of the tires with the road surface, thereby increasing grip and improving acceleration, braking and cornering performance. The wheels are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa extra-grip tires, ready for uncompromising performance on the track and dry road surfaces.

Better brakes

Braking performance is also improved. The front brake discs are ten percent larger in diameter than the standard 330 mm ones. They are combined with four-piston fixed Brembo calipers with better grip and more surface area to dissipate heat. This reduces fading due to heat during prolonged track sessions.

Cosmetic differences

A Ford Focus ST with Track Pack is easily identified by the special rear spoiler, rear diffuser and front bumper spoilers finished in striking high-gloss Agate Black. All three elements create passive aerodynamic effects, optimizing downforce and stability. The roof, upper grille in the front bumper and mirror caps of the Focus ST with Track Pack are also finished in Agate Black. The alloy wheels have a similar high-gloss black finish, with the brake calipers behind them in potent red. Other exclusive exterior details include the subtle black outline of the ST logos, instead of the standard chrome.

Powertrain

The Focus ST’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine always delivers 206 kW (280 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 420 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm. This is made possible in part by a twin-scroll turbocharger with anti-lag technology.

Limited-slip differential (eLSD)

Performance is further sharpened by such features as the flat-shift function, which keeps the throttle open when disengaging during upshifts. There is also an innovative electronically controlled limited-slip differential (eLSD), which hydraulically activates clutches to direct up to 100 percent of available torque to the wheel with the most grip. In this way, wheel spin is actively counteracted. The system works faster and more accurately than a mechanical LSD. The system pre-emptively adjusts torque based on inputs from the engine and various vehicle sensors.

The driver also has a choice of Drive Modes that affect the settings of the eLSD, as well as throttle response, electronic power steering and electronic stability control (ESC). Thus, everything is adaptable to the circumstances. A Track mode, for example, provides sharper response and more freedom within the ESC system, for maximum feedback to the driver and an optimally engaged driving experience.

The Focus ST with ST Track Pack is available for immediate order. The additional cost for the Track Pack is 3,575 euros. The base price of a Ford Focus ST starts at 60,640 euros in the Netherlands.
