Fancy a BMW 1M with V10? This super sleeper is up for sale

October 3, 2022

Beloved car among collectors

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe is one of BMW M’s most desirable sports coupes, and it is still a beloved car among collectors. Some keep it completely original, while others push the extreme limits.

The owner of this BMW 1M thought it was a good idea to shove the S85 V10 engine from the BMW E60 M5 into the front of this 1M, including the robotized manual transmission (SMG). The powertrain received as extras another ESS supercharger, water/methanol injection and a custom Friedrich exhaust system.

BMW 1M with V10: the performance

The upgraded V10 engine in this 1M kicks out to a solid 650 hp, while the standard V10 engine produces 507 hp. The BMW 1 Series M Coupe with six-in-line gasoline engine normally has 340 horsepower.

Performance? We know that one too! The 0-100 sprint takes only four seconds and the 0-200 sprint takes 10.5 seconds. The top speed is 335 km/h. The vehicle cost 145,000 euros new. The mileage now stands at about 19,000 kilometers. What all these goodies must cost? The current owner is asking 59,900 euros. It is for sale here.

The original BMW 1 Series M Coupe

Of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, BMW M built 6,309 units. About fifty were delivered to the Netherlands. Initially there were to be 25, but due to continued demand, that number was doubled. The Dutch new price of the 1 Series M Coupe came to 79,950 euros from April 2011 to June 2012, when production was already ended.
