Eye to eye with the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm (#305/500)
Exclusivity and circulation
The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm along with the Giulia GTA is limited to just 500 examples, each numbered and certified. This makes the model not only a performance masterpiece, but also a valuable collector’s item for car enthusiasts. The Giulia GTAm is distinguished by its aggressive appearance and improved aerodynamics, developed in collaboration with Sauber Engineering.
Some key features:
- Widened wheel arches for wider track width.
- Active aerodynamics, including a larger carbon fiber front lip and a massive rear wing, developed in collaboration with Orlen F1.
- Lightweight carbon fiber parts, including the hood, roof, bumpers and sideskirts.
- Rear Lexan windows for weight savings.
- Central Akrapovič exhaust made of titanium, incorporated into a functional diffuser.
- 19-inch centerlock rims inspired by race cars.
Interior Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm
Inside, the GTAm breathes motorsports. The interior has been stripped down and optimized for track use:
- Sabelt bucket seats with six-point seat belts.
- Alcantara trim on dashboard, door panels and center tunnel.
- No rear seat, replaced with a roll bar for added rigidity and safety.
- Carbon fiber interior parts for further weight savings.
- Aluminum gear knob and lightweight door handles.
Engine and performance
Under the hood lies an improved version of the 2.9-liter V6 biturbo from the Giulia Quadrifoglio. Thanks to optimized cooling and engine management, this engine delivers 397 kW (540 hp), up from the standard 510 hp. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 3.6 seconds thanks to the Launch Control system. Shifting is done with a modified eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Compared to the regular Quadrifoglio, the GTAm is about 100 kilograms lighter, resulting in an overall weight of about 1,520 kilograms. Alfa Romeo has also optimized handling through active dampers and an improved suspension.
The optional experience package
Buyers of the Giulia GTAm were offered an exclusive experience beyond just owning the car. This particular example – number 305 of 500 – features the so-called experience package, consisting of:
- A helmet by Bell with GTA logo.
- A complete racing coverall from Alpinestars.
- An exclusive on-track driving training course supervised by Alfa Romeo driving instructors.
- A custom made car cover for garage storage.
