EV Experience 2025: unique Toyota LQ shows itself!

October 2, 2025

2019 Toyota LQ from 2019

At the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota presented the Toyota LQ, a concept car capable of autonomous driving up to level 4. The eye-catcher is Yui, an artificially intelligent assistant that personalizes the driving experience. Yui communicates with the driver via voice and adjusts functions such as seat, lighting, air conditioning, smell and music. This keeps the driver alert and relaxed.

The seats have air cushions with integrated cooling and ventilation. When fatigued, the driver sits up straighter and is provided with cool air. In autonomous mode, the seats stimulate breathing, seamlessly merging technology and well-being.

Daisuke Ido was in charge

“In the past, our love for cars was based on the ability to travel long distances and go on adventures,” said Daisuke Ido, who spearheaded the development of the LQ. “With the LQ and the advanced technology it contains, we present a car that offers the driver a personalized driving experience, can meet each driver’s personal mobility needs and can provide a stronger bond between the driver and his car.”
