These car brands lead the way

In the list of car brands with the most collision claims, Mercedes leads the list. Audi and Seat follow close behind. At the other end of the spectrum: Mini. Those owners were found by the Univë survey to be the least likely to sustain damage, as were drivers of Hyundai, Suzuki and Daihatsu.

South Holland

Regionally, the most damage is driven in South Holland, with a damage rate of 3.44%. North Brabant and Flevoland complete the top three. By contrast, the north of the country is relatively safe: Drenthe, Friesland and Groningen remain well below the national average.

In the city, be careful

The busier the environment, the greater the risk of damage. In urban areas, the chance of a collision is almost twice as high as in rural areas. More traffic, more complex situations and often more haste – not an ideal combination for damage-free driving.

Rewarding driving behavior

The figures are not just fun facts for Univé. They are also used to set premiums more fairly and to encourage safe driving behavior. Via the insurer’s app, policyholders can voluntarily have their driving style analyzed. Those who drive safely receive a discount. And those who do so structurally, also ensure fewer claims and thus lower costs for everyone. At least, that’s the idea.
