Camping in a Honda CR-V: you can do it in this one

April 9, 2025

Honda CR-V celebrates its 30th anniversary

The first Honda CR-V appeared on the market in 1995, which is 30 years ago. CR-V stands for Compact Recreational Vehicle. Today, the CR-V is in its sixth generation and by 2024 was the third best-selling SUV in the world, with more than 1 million units sold in Europe since its launch. The Honda CR-V “Dream Pod” celebrates three decades of CR-V.

Camping equipment

The Honda CR-V Dream Pod features specialized camping equipment, genuine Honda accessories and various comfort features. Central to the “Dream Pod” transformation is the EGOE Nestboard 650, a compact built-in camping solution that fits snugly into the CR-V’s 617-liter luggage space.

Double mattress

When folded down rear seats, the double mattress easily unfolds into a cozy sleeping space for two adults. The base of the unit contains a pull-out drawer with a stove, a folding sink and plenty of storage space for utensils, cutlery and crockery.

Inside, the Dream Pod features custom comfort features such as “tech pods” with LED reading lights, slide-out side tables and USB charging stations. Specially made blackout panels for the rear windows and a pull-out curtain behind the front seats provide additional privacy.

Illuminated entry strips

Several original Honda accessories enhance the Dream Pod’s camping capabilities. These include a Honda-certified Thule bike carrier on the removable rear tow hitch, which also allows full use of the 1,500 kg towing capacity. Custom rubber floor mats keep the interior clean after a muddy walk. The entry guards are illuminated.
