The new BMW F 450 GS marks the next step in BMW Motorrad’s legendary GS family. This completely newly developed A2 motorcycle combines the iconic GS design with modern technology, powerful performance and surprising versatility. In the Netherlands, the market launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, with a recommended retail price starting at €8,600.

Compact, powerful and economical

The BMW F 450 GS is designed for riders looking for an accessible, lightweight but fully-fledged adventure motorcycle. The new two-cylinder inline engine delivers 48 hp (35 kW) and 43 Nm of torque, perfect within the A2 licence class. With a capacity of 420 cc and consumption of only 3.8 liters per 100 km, this BMW is not only powerful, but also economical. Thanks to the 14-liter fuel tank, the driving range exceeds 350 kilometers.

The engine is completely newly developed and meets EU5+ emissions standards. The crankshaft with 135-degree offset crank journals ensures lively, smooth running and a characterful sound – exactly what you expect from a genuine BMW GS.

Easy Ride Clutch

One of the biggest innovations of the new F 450 GS is the BMW Easy Ride Clutch (ERC). This clever clutch works centrifugally and allows riding without manual clutching. Ideal for city riding, touring or off-road adventures.

The Easy Ride Clutch is standard on the F 450 GS Trophy and is a first in this segment. In combination with Shift Assistant Pro, you can also shift gears without a clutch lever. Nevertheless, the lever remains present for situations where extra control is desired.

Pure control on any terrain

The BMW F 450 GS offers three riding modes as standard – Rain, Road and Enduro – and advanced safety systems such as ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Motor Slip Regulation (MSR). For fans of dirt riding, there is the additional Enduro Pro mode, which allows the ABS to be disabled on the rear wheel.

The completely newly developed tubular frame provides maximum rigidity and stability, while the short wheelbase ensures playful handling. The KYB suspension with adjustable damping combines comfort with precision – on asphalt and offroad.

Recognizable GS DNA

The design of the F 450 GS fits seamlessly with the larger GS models. The LED headlight with X-daytime running lights, the characteristic flyline and the compact proportions make it instantly recognizable. The ergonomics are typical GS: wide handlebars, narrow waist and comfortable seating position, both sitting and standing.

The standard 6.5-inch TFT display offers connectivity for phone, music and navigation. USB-C connectivity, LED lighting all around and an extensive accessory program – from panniers to protective brackets – complete this BMW adventure bike.
