Manufacturing in Dingolfing

The new BMW 5 Series Sedan will be built exclusively at BMW Group Factory Dingolfing. The Lower Bavaria plant is the company’s largest production site in Europe. In the year that celebrates 50 years since the first BMW rolled off the assembly line at the plant, production of the eighth-generation BMW 5 Series Sedan begins. In addition to the new BMW 5 Series Sedan, from the current portfolio, the BMW 7 Series, 8 Series and the all-electric BMW iX will also be produced here.

BMW Group Factory Dingolfing is also home to the center of expertise for the production of electric drive systems, which is tasked with producing both the electric motors and high-voltage batteries for the BMW i5 at the factory site.
