Volvo XC90 gets mild facelift and revised interior
Volvo XC90 with modified front end
Well, what’s new about the Volvo XC90?
We detect a modified front end with a handsome grille.
The light units have also been modified.
At the rear, the different are minimal.
The biggest news comes inside.
Volvo has revised the interior a bit.
Physical buttons have all but disappeared.
Almost everything is now hidden in a large central touchscreen, as is the case in Tesla’s.
Moreover, Volvo has additionally insulated certain parts of the car, further reducing wind and road noise.
Extra storage space
The designers also created additional storage space in the center console, including an additional cup holder.
The wireless phone charger is placed behind the center tunnel.
The Volvo XC90 can further be equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity audio system.
Improved suspension
The updated Volvo XC90 should also ride better thanks to improved suspension.
Each individual damper can now mechanically adjust to current road conditions to optimize both comfort and stability.
Air suspension is optional.
An XC90 can be lowered 20 mm or raised 40 mm with air suspension.
Driver assistance systems
The Volvo XC90 is further equipped with several driver assistance systems.
Using radar and a front camera, the XC90 can detect if the car has drifted into the oncoming lane and safely steer it back into its own lane to avoid the risk of a collision.
It also helps prevent the car from accidentally going off the road.
It can also use brakes and steering to avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and large animals, such as the moose from Sweden.
