Tolman Motorsport comes up with restomod of Peugeot 205 GTI
Tolman Motorsport founded by Christopher Tolman
British Tolman Motorsport was founded in 2007 by Christopher Tolman after working as an engineer/mechanic for racing teams for 12 years. The company has grown considerably since its inception: they now have ten permanent employees. These are all professionals who, like Tolman, come from the motorsports world. The company divides its operations into three departments: Engineering, Motorsports and Historic.
Sixteen-valve
Tolman Motorsport’s Peugeot 205 GTI kept its own engine block, but some modifications were made. Among other things, the block received a new ECU from the Motec brand. A different head was also put on the engine block, with twice as many valves. In fact, before the upgrades, the 205 had eight valves. Now there are sixteen. This makes this hatchback weighing less than 1,000 kilograms good for over 200 horsepower at the front wheels.
Price Peugeot 205 GTI Tolman Motorsport
At Tolman Motorsport, a serious amount of time is put into the Peugeot 205 GTI. The English company’s people are spending a total of about 700 hours performing the upgrades. Not only the engine is being upgraded, by the way. The French classic also gets a stainless steel exhaust, a limited slip differential and better brakes. Also, the old-fashioned tachometers are being replaced with digital displays from Motec.
Good to know: all these upgrades can be done as you choose. The undercarriage also gets a lot of work. For example, new dampers are being fitted so that the 205 GTI sits better on the road. The original lights will also be replaced with LED lights if desired. The price of the upgraded 205 GTI is over 63,000 euros.
