F1: What time does the Spanish Grand Prix start?
What time does qualifying for the Barcelona GP start?
Qualifying for the F1 GP of Spain begins Saturday, May 21 at 4:00 pm. Last year it was Lewis Hamilton who walked away with pole. Verstappen was only three hundredths of a second slower and had to settle for P2. The third spot on the grid was for Valtreri Bottas, then driving for Mercedes. The surprise of qualifying was Ocon, who pulled in a handsome P5.

First victory for Verstappen
Verstappen keeps fond memories of the Barcelona circuit. The Russian Daniil Kvyat, after disappointing results, was transferred back to Toro Rosso. Max got the seat at Red Bull, as teammate of Daniel Ricciardo. During his Red Bull debut in Barcelona, the Dutchman immediately took his first victory. Partly because the Mercedes drivers Hamilton and Rosberg drove each other off the track.
What do you need to know about the GP of Spain in Barcelona?
The Spanish GP is a regular fixture on the racing calendar. It is a mix of fast and slow corners and long straights. It is therefore the reason why the circuit is the perfect test site for the F1 teams at the beginning of the season. Not this year, however, as pre-season testing took place in Bahrain due to the pandemic.
