All-electric: Peugeot e-308 and e-308 SW
New powertrain
The electric Peugeot e-308 and e-308 SW are powered by a brand new 156 hp (115 kW) electric motor. This electric motor further has 260 Nm of pulling power.
Thanks to a 54 kWh battery – with 51 kWh of usable capacity – Peugeot promises a range of more than 400 kilometers according to the WLTP test standard. The battery consists of 80 percent nickel, 10 percent manganese and 10 percent cobalt. Peugeot targets an average energy consumption of 12.7 kWh per 100 kilometers.
Peugeot e-308 charging
Charging can be done at 11 kW at a normal charging station or even 100 kW at a fast charger. In the latter case, it takes less than 25 minutes to charge the battery from 20 to 80 percent.
The Peugeot e-308 has several driving modes, namely Eco, Normal, Sport and a real Brake function. In the latter case, the car brakes more strongly after lifting the gas pedal. Thus, the car recovers additional energy.
Digital displays
The equipment is nice and complete. For example, the electric Peugeot 308 models get an all-digital instrument cluster and a centrally located 10-inch touchscreen as standard. It comes as Allure and GT-Line, the two richest versions in other words.
Market launch in 2023
The market launch of the Peugeot e-308 and e-308 SW will take place in mid-2023. So we don’t have prices yet. The car could also be purchased over the Internet by then, directly from Peugeot’s website. By the way, Opel, for its part, is coming out with an all-electric Astra-e. It too comes as a five-door hatchback and an estate wagon.
