Two versions of BMW CE 02
BMW Motorrad is taking another step in its electric mobility strategy with the new CE 02. The Dutch market introduction is scheduled for spring 2024. There will be two versions. Choose from a variant with a system output of 4 kW (5 hp) – rated power 3.2 kW (4 hp) – and a limited top speed of 45 km/h. Thus, the CE 02 also meets the requirements of the AM driving license class, allowing riders as young as 16 years old to ride this lightweight electric two-wheeler.
The strong variant
BMW Motorrad additionally provides a variant with a maximum power output of 11 kW (15 hp), resulting in a dynamic riding experience and rapid acceleration at stoplights. The top speed of the powerful variant is 95 km/h and the range comes out to more than 90 kilometers (11 kW version according to WMTC). The weight of 132 kilograms applies to the 11 kW version. The 4 kW variant has a weight of 119 kilograms. Both versions have a seat height of 750 mm.
Price BMW CE 02 and BMW CE 02 AM
The BMW CE 02 AM is available in the Netherlands from 7,250 euros. The BMW CE 02 has a recommended retail price starting at 8,250 euros. According to the manufacturer, the CE 02 is not an e-motorcycle or e-scooter. It is a so-called eParkourer, made for the city or an urban environment.
Colors
BMW Motorrad uses black as the base color for the frame, wheels, front fender and top crown plate. The motorcycle cover is finished in the color Granite Grey metallic matte. The special Highline version of the new CE 02 stands out thanks to an extrovert and colorful theme. Characteristic of this variant are gold anodized forks and Petrol as a contrast color.
Driving modes BMW CE 02
The new BMW CE 02 features the two driving modes “Flow” and “Surf” as standard. ‘Flow’ driving mode provides the ideal set-up for comfortable cruising in city traffic, while ‘Surf’ provides a dynamic driving experience outside of heavy city traffic. The optional driving mode “Flash” is a sporty and dynamic addition as part of the Highline optional equipment and as an original BMW Motorrad accessory.
Charger
The new CE 02 has an external charger with a charging capacity of 0.9 kW as standard, making charging via a standard wall outlet quick and easy. A quick charger with a charging capacity of 1.5 kW is optionally available in the Highline equipment and as an original BMW Motorrad accessory (11 kW version only).

An integrated USB-C charging port allows charging a smartphone on the go. Using the BMW Motorrad Connected app, the user has insight into the charging process via a smartphone thanks to a Bluetooth network connection, as on the BMW CE 04. In the Highline variant of the BMW CE 02, the cradle mode allows the smartphone (placed in the smartphone holder) to be operated securely via the BMW Motorrad smartphone app as an additional display via the handlebar keyboard. It is also possible to record trips using the app.
