Tesla Model 3 Performance: here’s what you need to know!

April 24, 2024

Powertrain Tesla Model 3 Performance

A latest-generation Performance drive unit on the rear axle and a motor on the front axle enables a system output of more than 338 kW (460 hp) and allows Model 3 Performance to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, with a top speed of 262 km/h.

Lightweight 20-inch wheels

This extra power is transferred to the road via forged aluminum 20-inch wheels, with new high-performance summer tires. Tire and wheel widths differ front and rear, providing sharper cornering, improved predictability and more traction when exiting corners, both on the road and on the track.

New adaptive damping technology

Model 3 Performance’s all-new adaptive damping technology is controlled by Tesla’s proprietary software integrated into the Tesla Vehicle Dynamics Controller (VDC). This latest-generation system allows very sporty driving without sacrificing everyday convenience.

Improved suspension with High Performance brakes and Track Mode

Tesla has significantly improved the hardware in the chassis to make the chassis suitable for the higher performance of the powertrain and suspension. Improved structural rigidity, updated springs, stabilizer bars and rubbers create a suspension that can handle higher performance and is highly responsive to driver input.

Track-ready brakes now come standard with High Performance brake pads for more direct deceleration, higher thermal limits and longer life. Model 3 Performance features red calipers.

Track Mode of the latest generation now includes adaptive suspension control combined with a powertrain optimized for highest performance that responds instantly to driver input. When Track Mode is enabled, the handling characteristics, stability control and degree of regenerative braking can be adjusted to the driver’s personal preference via the redesigned user interface.

All of these changes combine to create a driving experience that follows the driver’s commands even more precisely, maximizing the higher level of performance both on the road and on the track.

New look for Tesla Model 3 Performance

Model 3 Performance has been given a design that stands out more from the other versions. The new front and rear have more aggressive styling, specific aerodynamics and integrated cooling channels that, along with the rear diffuser and Carbon Fiber spoiler, improve downforce and stability at high speeds.

Lots of carbon fiber

The new sport seats feature improved side cushions and cheeks for more lateral support when cornering. They can also be heated and ventilated. Tesla’s first-ever Carbon Fiber trim finish makes Model 3 Performance extra distinctive from other Model 3 versions.

Surprisingly affordable

The price of the Tesla Model 3 Performance starts at 56,990 euros in the Netherlands. Deliveries will begin in the second quarter. The regular Model 3 starts at 41,990 euros.
